You are a rarity. It's nice to know there are still some folk who take the commandments seriously. (Thou shalt not judge...")

What a Liberal perspective. There is no morality -- only shades of gray. All decisions are OK, no matter who gets hurt. The important thing is the desire to do no harm and, of course, that the decider is HAPPY and fulfilled.

I doubt the mother feels "happy" or "fufilled" right now. She must live with this tragic mistake the rest of her life. She will put herself through more hell than any strangers could dish out.

She made a dumb, stupid mistake. One that could have been not been made if she had taken any of hundreds of different actions. But she didn't. She killed her baby. Not maliciously, but that baby is dead just the same.

This mom failed to keep her most precious posession safe and all our talk of "she should have," or "she could have" does nothing but give us false hope that we would never make that same mistake because we would _____________ (fill in the blank with your own sanctimonious reason.)

My heart goes out to her and her family. She will never, ever get over this if she lives to be 100. The anger and disappointment that we collection of strangers feel is multiplied millions of times in her heart.

Should she be prosecuted? go to jail? I'll be dollars to donuts that she won't care either way. Man cannot harm her now, she's already done the worst.
