(IsraelNN.com) United States Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice joined the G8 industrialized nations group in calling for restraint by IDF forces that entered Gaza to rescue a soldier who was kidnapped by Hamas terrorists on Sunday.
Rice added that diplomatic officials continue to work toward obtaining the release of 19-year-old Corporal Gilad Shalit, who was taken hostage during the raid on an IDF outpost near the Kerem Shalom border crossing. Two soldiers were killed and four others wounded in the attack.
Shalit’s whereabouts are unknown and his captors refuse to return him.
You mean like the Brits, Italians and Australians did for us after 911. Surely we could do the same for an ally.

I'll turn your question around. Is Bush monitoring what she's saying and making sure that it is what he believes? If so Bush is wrong. If not, he is not doing his job.

This call for restraint is coming from Rice under the umbrella of the G8.
Think the G8 is sending Israel back channel encouragement?

And the US, especially considering the US status in the WOT, should not be a party to such a disgusting betrayal of a friend at war.

Sorry to say, our government would never be as brave.
We are fighting the war on terror by trying to win their hearts and minds, giving them freedom from tyranny. The biggest problem with this is that we are dealing with people whose religious idealology does not allow for freedom. It is an idealology that glorifies death and hatred for those who do not agree with them. You can't make chicken salad out of chicken sh!t.

Don't you get it? It got very, very messy on 911. Sadly your sentiment represents the majority of the American public. They don't feel that we are really in a war. Remember all the talk about you're either with us or against us? Remember if you sponsor, harbor or financially support terrorists that you would be treated as a terrorist? Well it's past time for us to put up or shut the hell up. Our statement of support for Israel needs to be said just as boldly as the "with us or against us" statement. Not by some weasel back channel support statement. They're our ally and they have been attacked. We should stand with them.
