Well, actually, they have done such a good job of driving out their competition, that people often have little practiccal or convenient alternative, which is probably the same thing.

The only union I belong to is the Union of concerned consumers.

If you check my response, I indicated my concern from a consumer's persective. I don't really know or care anything about the Union view of the issue.

As a matter of fact, the small family owned shops I indicated I prefer generally have no unions.
