Walk into a Wal-Mart Supercenter and look around; the place is amazing! Oh for crying out loud. It's a K-Mart and a Safeway all in one. It's not a friggin' space station. I swear, I don't get the fascination with Wal-Mart, pro or con. The fact that it's actually a political issue is baffling to me. It's a friggin discount retail store. What the hell is the big deal?

Wal Mart like Lowes and Home Depot have created a niche market for small stores. There are two Ace Hardware store here in town both just blocks from Home Depots. On a weekend I can be in and out of the Ace before I can get in The Home Depot. The same is true for small markets. There isn't one near my house now though. Anybody out want to start a small grocery store?

Too early for me to read so much. I just have one thing to say though as much as I love the convenience that Wal-Mart brings..I am sick and tired of having my achilles heal being ran into by illegal's on any given day of the week, its not Wal-Mart's problem for sure, but it is one of the reasons I dont shope there anymore.

hook up with hot South Alabama blonde... Mmmm baby. I hear you! Damn boy! Can I have some biscuits and gravy in the morning?? :-P I'm not knocking em at all. I shop at Wal-Mart. I get clothes, fishing gear, lawn and garden, etc etc. It's just that to me, Wal-Mart is a large discount retail store and that's all it is. I think it's twisted that it's a political issue. Bizarre, really.

Walmart's system may best be described as cannabalism.

I live in England. What's a Wal-Mart? :D

Sit back and grab some popcorn. Anti Wal-Mart rants are entertaining to read by the Protectionist wing of FR.

Oi vey, you say? Starving American middle class prolongs its life by feeding on starving workers of other nations. That is Walmart's system, and that is cannabalism.

Walmart's system may best be described as cannabalism. What do they cannibalize?

don't like wal-mart - don't shop there. what is wrong with providing lots of stuff cheap? are you saying that people ought to pay more for things?
they pay better and have better bennies than many better respected service organizations, plus they give vast amounts to local charities.
the left hates them because they are successful and throw every argument they can think of against them. They too think that people should pay more for things.
think.

They too think that people should pay more for things. I'm saying "Wal-Mart sucks." I made no comments about their methods or their success. They suck because their customer service sucks, their parking lots suck, their selection sucks. They're the suckiest bunch of sucks that ever sucked.
