IOW, "It takes a lot of time and effort to weave a web of lies a distortions about someone as intricately has we've done with Tom DeLay. We can't accompish that on another candidate overnight, ya know. The judge needs to take that into account!"

The Democrats needed to state a reason why they'd be harmed if DeLay were involuntarily removed from the ballot. This is a rare moment of actual candor from them.

The judge has to force DeLay to run even though he's no longer a candidate! From the Democrats' way of looking at things, its amazing how much they need this guy. You know, they should have thought of that before that sicced Earle on him. Its called the law of unintended consequences and now the chickens are coming home to roost.
