I figure it was mostly president Bush's endorsement of Cannon in a very pro-Bush district. It says a lot though that Bush felt the need to even get involved in a primary.
In the big picture it means nothing changes. Utah has shown itself to be a fairly illegal friendly state. If the OBL thinks the issue will go away because Cannon won, they're in for a serious disappointment.
Something wrong with the President 'getting involved' in this primary?
"Something wrong with the President 'getting involved' in this primary?"
It's unusual.
But no, and neither is Tancredo, Bay Buchanan and Team America PAC getting involved.
You may have noticed that the pathetic little girls have added to the keywords list.
IB4D
I saw that. When I started the thread, I added the keywords: 'Cannon,' 'Jacob,' 'immigrantlist' and 'Utah.'
Almost immediatley some petty person added the keywords: 'Bay Buchanan,' 'sorelosers' and 'send more money.'
LOL
Typical democrat style tactics. Fortunately conservatives aren't swayed by childrens games.
"I figure it was mostly president Bush's endorsement of Cannon in a very pro-Bush district. It says a lot though that Bush felt the need to even get involved in a primary."
President Bush and Ther First Ladies UNUSUAL INTERJECTION into a local GOP primary propably cost Jacob at least 3-4 %.
jacobs own mistakes propably 2-3%.
He still finished 3% higher than Matt Thortoton in 2004 (42%)
Jacob finished abouy 46%

Cannon got 15,752 Votes.
If they think 15,752 will override the rest of America's 100 Million voters,
they are delutional.
Plus I bet you see Chris Cannon talking any more about that Comprehensive nonsense. He's got to run again in 2008.

It's just unusual for a President to get involved into a local GOP primary.
How many points do u think Cannon gained with The presidents and First ladies involvement?
He finished at 44%. He spent more than 6 times than Throckmorton in 04 and got a whole whopping 2% bump.
This was a big loss for tancredo/bay buchanan, no matter how much the howard dean like "loss is victory" is used.
Umm, maybe it's the fact that Jacob was a kook...?
True, but Cannon spent a lot more this time too, so I don't see the relevence.
Anyway, your side won this battle. Enjoy your victory.
Jacob lost.
But he forced Cannon to acknowledge his damaging pro-illegal past statements, and maybe Cannon will stop with the illegal pandering.
If not, there's always 2008.
But let's support Cannon and make sure the seat remains in GOP hands instead of getting mad, voting for the CP candidate, splitting the ticket, and the Dim wins.
I don't see anything at all unusual about it.
That the President maintains control of the house and senate is the most important issue of our lifetime.
But Dane, you predicted that what with Jacob being a novice, making misteps, and being a single-issue candidate, that Cannon would receive over 60%. Chris "Landslide" Cannon only got 55.8%. How come so little?
