I called J.D. Hayworths office just now and told them about this. Hope he says something about it when he puts up the resolution today to condem the Slimes.

Funny how these groups have stayed silent all these years as banking transactions were scrutinized for illegal money laundering from the illegal drug trade.

I just called Peter King's office and told them about this also. This will make him scream more.

From the article:
He said Swift could face fines or an order to halt the transfers if it was found guilty of breaching laws in countries where the complaints have been filed.

European leaders and civil liberties groups across Europe are concerned that Washington has ignored human rights in the fight against terrorism.

So..when the Times published this- did it not DAWN on them that this would be the EXACT reaction? Of course everyone in Europe etc is now going to have to scramble to cover their political butts...regardless of their behind-the-scenes cooperation before...

THIS is EXACTLY why they should NEVER have published- they have jeopardized the lives of American citizens.

Ya' might not want to make any big deposits the Monday after the Super Bowl either if you catch my drift.

Well, there goes the "no harm, no foul" argument.

This is such a common sense measure that it's thoroughly understandable that some leftist "rights" group would condemn it.

But I 'm glad you called JD Hayworth's office; thank you for your activism, Hipaatwo.

I have to leave in a few minutes for a lunch but will look for updates on this when I return.

Exactly..

What I can't get out of my mind is that NO ONE elected Bill Keller or Pinch. If some hot shot lib Congressman exposed this I'd be furious- but they'd have to face their constituents. These guys just DECIDE for the country...

"Rights unit challenges U.S. over bank data (SWIFT/EU)"

So now we are seeing the real reason why the Slimes published the story.

What if the Rosenbergs decided to publish the plans for the A-Bomb in the NYT instead of giving them directly to the Russians?

This is precisely what the NY Slimes wanted - they know they may not win with the American public but they can certainly mobilize Euro-twits and "human rights groups" etc. to go crazy, which serves their purposes quite well. Yet another example of how the NY Slimes does not have American interests at heart.........

And could you imagine what would happen if a congressman sold his insider information to the New York Times...so they could make money selling it to their readers?

But, but...Bill Keller told us that the government had raised this point with him, and he decided that there was nothing to worry about - that he had never seen anything like that and this was a weak, half-hearted argument.
