Execution Plans Still Underway
Despite a stay for Paul Reid issued on Tuesday afternoon, the Riverbend Maximum security prison is still making preparations for two executions.
By Tuesday afternoon, both inmates, Sedley Alley and Paul Reid were still on Death Watch. All day the Department of Corrections was preparing for one or two executions.

Both these guys need to go, but I would have taken out Reid first.
Why?
It's personal. I knew one of the families of one of his victims. His killings also covered a wide area of middle TN. He's cold, and has no remorse. He deserves to die for his crimes, and it ought to be made public.
Isn't Alley's murder over 20 years old? It's disgraceful for it to take that long before he pays the price.
Reid lived in a house not four doors away from mine and I remember the satellite trucks lighting us up while they covered the cops searching the place for evidence. That was fun to explain to my then 7 and 4 year old chiildren.
I didn't think it was quite that long, but I'm going to check into that.

LOL, I remember seeing that on TV. Sorry your kids had to go through that, but maybe it's a lesson they'll remember. If they hung him at 2nd and Broad, a lot of people might remember.
2nd and Broad would be a good spot. I wonder if I could get the T-shirt concession?
After thinking back a bit, I realized that the "Mister D's" restaurant where he killed a bunch of kids was also right around the corner from the Catholic grade school my son was attending at the time.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but the Cap. D's was in Donelson. That's where Sarah Jackson was murdered.
That t-Shirt concession would be worth a mint !!!!
I thought earlier today the state should usurp whatever a fed court says and take care of its own. Go Tennessee!
Ya, things went well until the feds stepped in.

Thanks,
Sorry, I misread that in my haste to post this news. Will be more careful in the future.
21 years come 7/12/06.
Alley has now been issued a temporary stay, too.
Didn't last long, "Alley Executed at 2:12 AM".
