It is one of the most 'protected' documents in the world.
Do you think federal prosecutors would cut me some slack if I were to get to it and burn it, claiming "freedom of speech?"
If we can burn our national symbols, maybe we can deface our national monuments and shoot our bald-eagles.
Thats my opinion of course.

No, because you don't own the original document. If on the other hand you burn your own copy of the constitution, there would be no legal problem for you. It's about private property; if someone buys a flag they own it, and can do whatever they want with it.

I do not understand why you believe it logical to compare an act of burning property owned by the individual who does the burning to an act of theft and destruction of property not owned by the destroyer.
