The husband of one of the victims of condemned murderer Angel Maturino Resendiz the infamous "Railroad Killer" called a Mexican diplomat's effort to halt the execution "shameful."
Resendiz was headed to Texas' death chamber Tuesday night, even as Mexico filed an appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court asking that his execution be blocked. The appeal questioned the Mexican national's competency and challenged the constitutionality of the lethal injection process.
"I just think, particularly at this time, for the citizens of Mexico, they should be outraged and ashamed their government is championing the cause of this killer and spending their national resources on his appeals, hiring even a special attorney," George Benton said.
George Benton no longer lives in the state but planned to witness Resendiz's lethal injection Tuesday.
"The main reason I came to Texas for this is to make the statement that people have to understand what evil really is," he said. "And the death penalty, this sort of conclusion to heinous killers, is the appropriate solution."
Several appeals were pending in the federal courts, including petitions before the U.S. Supreme Court asking justices to review his case and delay the punishment. The appeal blamed a previous court-appointed lawyer for missing filing deadlines that are blocking new appeals now.

Again, the story's opening paragraphs not only do not name, but does not even number the persons murdered. With every mention of the killer's name there should be a mention of the name(s) of the lives he is convicted of taking. Fair and balanced Fox News?
Mexico needs to stop meddling in our internal affairs and tend to the illegal trash it pushes over the border that commit these types of crimes.
Just committing the murders Americans don't want to.
Why would the husband try to save the guy's life unless he was thanking him for murdering his wife!
he's not trying to save the guys life! What are you talking about????
what they should is send the list of people murdered by this illegal to the Mexican Consulate.
Extremely brutal.....no mercy shown to the victims, none at all.
Each victim and the means of their death should be listed with any reference to this monster.
It's an AP story to which Fox News added a few paragraphs.
The bad writing comes from the Associated Press!
try reading the whole story and not just the headline!
If you read just the headline then at least read it correctly. It says the husband thinks saving the murdering illegal immigrants life is shameful!!!!
For what it's worth, Mexicans in polls overwhelmingly approve of the death penalty, it is that the politicans they have elected historically oppose it.
"For what it's worth, Mexicans in polls overwhelmingly approve of the death penalty, it is that the politicans they have elected historically oppose it."
Makes sense. After all, considering how dishonest Mexican politicians are . . .

Personally, I would like to have every murdering SOB on death row killed in the same manner in which they off their victims.
I know, how about a law that makes it illegal for people to kill other people unless it is painless? That makes as much sense as saying the death penalty is cruel and unusual.
Since hanging and other means of punishment were being used when the constitution was written, and since the constitution is NOT a living document, despite what liberals would have us believe, then death by hanging is NOT cruel and unusual, death by lethal injection being a much more benign way to die, then the reasoning stands that lethal injection is NOT cruel and unusual!
This is just SOP, any time we are about to execute someone that wasn't born here (whether or not they've become a citizen) some diplomat from their original country protests. I think by this time it's a form letter "Please don't execute _____ (convict) for the ______ (crime) he/ she is accused of commiting in _____ (location) ______ (time frame). We feel it would be wrong owing to ______ (lame excuse, probably referencing bias in the judicial system). Sincerely _______ (nation)". Nobody pays any attention to it.
Believe this, he will be fried, died and laid to the side tonight!
