Lets see if i understand your logic. Nixon in 1971 is taking the Republican party where some members do not want it to go.

Some one stands up and says, "Are we going to let Nixon take the Republican party to the left?" And a bunch of people say,"Hell Yes! Lets drop out of the party so Nixon has no opposition to taking the party to the left!"

So you form a third party that typically gets less than one percent of the vote. .. Talk about turning some influence into NO influence... You people sure no how to do it.

If Libertarians worked in a Bank and heard that bank robbers were coming they would unlock the vault an leave the building ... just to teach those bankrobbers a real lesson.

Lets see if i understand your logic.

You don't. There are more libertarians in the Republican Party than the Libertarian Party. The Republican Party is the original Libertarian Party. John Kerry and Al Gore would have both beat Bush without the libertarian vote. When libertarians sit out elections Republicans lose.

Libertarians in increasing numbers are disillusioned by the Republican move to big government and more government intrusion into our lives. Added to that is the hostile attitude of the neocons towards libertarians. Many libertarian Republicans, like me, have said the hell with it and left the party.

The Republican Party will not be able to win an election if this trend continues, and therein lies the logic. The Libertarian Party will grow as the Republican Party declines.
