First, not all sin is criminal and not all crimes are sins.
I referred to a specific example that IS a crime.

Sure enough, taking the name of God in vain is a sin, but a liberal must, yet not a crime.

How about reposting this comment? i'm not certain what you were trying to say. The syntax looks a bit odd, as if you left out a clause.

Just trying to follow discussion.

EE: --not all sin is criminal and not all crimes are sins.

Government police should not be in the business of busting people for sins that aren't crimes.

CA Guy decrees:

Recreational drug use is criminal, so in my example you cannot say -- "not all sin is criminal and not all crimes are sins".

As we see, our Guy simply insists that he & society have the power to prohibit any 'sin' they decree to be criminal.
If a majority decides that smoking is 'criminal', by golly, so it is..

Get it through you head Guy. -- You majority rule prohibitionists are Constitutionally ~wrong~.

You have no delegated power to prohibit. [see the 10th] -- You never have had that power.
We the people allow reasonable regulations on life, liberty, or property to be written & enforced if they conform to constitutional due process. [see the 14th]

Get the principle yet? -- Will you ever?

Not so fast...

There are plenty of OTC meds that can be taken legally that can produce a buzz and can be abused. Legally.

Then, of course, you can defend the hypocracy of legal alcohol and legal nicotine versus illegal cannibas.

But recreational drug use is NOT an unqualified criminal act. Nor should it be.
