Right, but Matthew had lived a somewhat dissolute life and Paul was on his way to kill Christians. Peter was fisherman leading an oridary life. Matthew and Paul can be a bit like strident ex-smokers.
Dont get me wrong, Im not denying their holiness, its just I identify with Peter. He was chosen by Christ to lead the church despite his denying Christ. Since I am a sinner, its nice to know, its not a barrier to salvation. Its a testimony to Christ forgiveness and understanding.
