All that is needed is a full blown conservative network & FOX would be in the toilet like the rest. (This always brings up the question of why there isn't one)
The other problem is they just fall in line and parrot the the daily news agenda initiated from the NY slimes. They need to break that cycle.
There isn't a conservative news because, as defined, news is radical:Basically journalism is cynical about eveyone and everything except itself. Itself, it hypes to the skies. Anyone who toadies to journalism by criticizing people who get things done (and thus are vulnerable to second-guessing) is a friend to the journalist.
- "If it bleeds, it leads" emphasizes the negative.
- "Man Bites Dog" emphasizes the unusual, hence the unrepresentative.
- "There's nothing more worthless than yesterday's newspaper" emphasizes the superficial.
The idea around which liberalism coheres is that NOTHING actually matters except PR. That's liberalism, and that is also "objective" journalism.
The alternative to "objectivity" is not inferior to it, the alternative to "objectivity" is humility. Instead of bragging how objective you think you (and everyone who goes along and gets along with you) are/is, be philosophical and claim only the love of wisdom, not possession of it. "Objective" journalism is sophistry, and the proper challenge to it is philosophy.
What would a program which projected humility and a philosophical attitude look like, and how would "objective journalism" react to it? There is no need to refer to it in the subjective mood. It exists, but is not called journalism. It is called "conservative talk radio" - and it is arrogantly reviled by "objective" journalism.
Don't you remember when Ted Turner tried to by one of the networks? Congress, the FCC and of course the networks themselves had a caniption, he was too conservatiove and would slant the news. In any case that brought us CNN.
