Ailes 'Fuming' at Fox News Channel

Fox News Chairman Roger Ailes is reportedly "on the warpath” about his network’s recent ratings slide – and has given notice to staffers that he’s willing to clean house, according to a report in Broadcasting & Cable.

The cable news channel’s overall prime-time ratings are off 8 percent in the second quarter of this year, and down 22 percent in viewers ages 25 to 54. The first quarter was also disappointing.

Rival CNN is also down, but only 2 percent overall in the second quarter and 18 percent in the 25-54 age group.

Ailes is said to be "fuming” over what he views as complacency among staffers, according to B&C.

He feels production values are slipping and bookers aren’t aggressive enough, relying too heavily on the same faces.

A full-page "Now Hiring” ad that ran recently in a trade magazine asked, "Can you make the cut?”

Broadcasting & Cable reports that a Fox staffer said the question was not addressed to outside applicants. "That was aimed inside.”

An Ailes spokesman declared: "Anyone who displays launch-type intensity will continue to have a job at Fox News. Those who don’t will not. And that includes talent.”

You are absolutely right. As soon as FOX gets back more conservtives, their ratings will soar again. Ailes is right about having the same old same old people on as guests all the time. We would like to see some new conservatives on news shows.

Remember what brought you to the top Roger, and quit moving left with each new hire.

Hey Roger! Stop hiring CNN's cast-offs and your ratings will go back up!

It would also be helful if Fox remembered who brought them to this dance!

I don't like Bob Beckel, but he is usually brought in as the democrat mouthpiece, which is good because he makes the democrats look bad.

Kalb and Clarke are brought in without rebutal as "experts." The rest I listed are annoying liberal leaning news people, except Colmes, who is just plain disgusting.

Greta is always in Court TV Mode. Didn't she come from there? Maybe she will go back there if she gets bumped from Fox.

Fire Shepard Smith. I hit the remote when he comes on. How in the world did someone who can't read get that job?

I hope someone is sending this thread to Roger Ailes.

For all the good it will do, why bother. This thread is all over the place; from some wanting to boot the biggest draw on Fox to to replacing "yucky" commercials. Not much meat here if you ask me, but there's always the possibility Ailes could pull some pearls off it.

Of course, that idiot on Fox & Friends claiming that a monkey at a typewriter would produce a copy of the Bible... well, I never liked F&F anyways, but that just reinforced why I hate inane morning news shows.

I think that was Kiran Chetry. She and others like her at Fox are the reason why the ratings are taking a nosedive. Many of us out here are sick and tired of turning on the tv and hearing another talking head chanting the "it's Bush's fault, it's America's fault" mantra.

Libs like her are ruining Fox. Maybe she could get a job at the New York Times.

46 boys, for all intents and purposes, have had their reputations smeared for the rest of their lives all because Mike Nifong needed black votes to beat Freda Black.

And because of the national news media, everyone in the country knows about it, instead of a few people in one area of N.C.

A good man lost a prestiguous job as Lacrosse coach and 46 families across this country have had their lives turned upside down for political pandering by a man who is abusing the justice system in the state of North Carolina for his own end.

Where is the governor in all of this?

Aren't you forgetting the fact that, even if they are found innocent (not not guilty) or even if she drops the charges or even if it's proven it's all a hoax, that those three boys' names will ALWAYS be in the National Sex Offdender's Database?

From that website:

This Web site is provided as a public service by the U.S. Department of Justice ("the Department"). Using this Web site, interested members of the public have access to and may search participating state Web site public information regarding the presence or location of offenders, who, in most cases, have been convicted of sexually-violent offenses against adults and children and certain sexual contact and other crimes against victims who are minors.

Brian was just great this morning. I wish I had more time to watch Fox and Friends. I love Steve, E.D. is just okay sometimes (although she was right on the mark with her anger over our murdered soldiers). The two I really dislike is Jon Scott and Bob Beckel. And Scott always allows Beckel to hog and entire segment. I have now taken to leaving the room when Beckel comes on.

Not to worry, Roger.

Your ratings will soar once the next war begins.

(Of course, he already knows that.)

instead give a repeat in the prime time to Britt!

LOL! That depends on where you live. For me, the live Special Report is on at 3:00PM while I'm still at work, and the repeat is at 9:00PM prime time for me. That schedule suits me just fine.

This always brings up the question of why there isn't one

Don't you remember when Ted Turner tried to by one of the networks? Congress, the FCC and of course the networks themselves had a caniption, he was too conservatiove and would slant the news. In any case that brought us CNN.
