Josh Blue isn't going to let his cerebral palsy get in the way of his chance at becoming the "Last Comic Standing."
The 27-year-old, who was born in the African country of Cameroon and raised in St. Paul's Midway neighborhood, scored a spot on the fourth season of the NBC reality show and is already a fan favorite thanks to lines like, "You guys better laugh because this is my make-a-wish" and "You're all going to hell for laughing at me." On a recent episode of "Last Comic Standing," he won the audience choice award.
"Not to sound cocky, but I knew I had a good show," said Blue from his home in Denver. "I ripped it up. I got a standing ovation, and no one else did."
The Como High School graduate decided early on that his physical disability wasn't going to interfere with his dreams. Not only is he a successful stand-up comedian, he is also an accomplished painter and a member of the U.S. Paralympic soccer team that competed in the 2004 Paralympic Games in Athens, Greece.

A horse walks into a bar and orders a drink....the bartender says "why the long face".....
..."I just lost the 2004 presidential election" he replied.
Blue was one of the show's 12 finalists chosen to live in a "house," which is actually the Queen Mary ocean liner docked in Long Beach, Calif., and compete in various comedic challenges and elimination rounds. At the end of the season, viewers vote online or by phone to determine which comic will end up with a talent contract, courtesy of NBC, and a comedy special on Bravo.
"The whole time I was growing up in St. Paul I don't think it ever occurred to me to do stand-up," Blue said. "I did know that I was funny and very quick-witted. I was a class clown that could get away with murder."
In fact, Blue didn't consider a career in comedy until his days at Evergreen State College in Olympia, Wash., where he earned a degree in creative writing. But his parents, Jacqueline and Walter Blue, noticed their son's witty sense of humor at an early age and weren't surprised that Josh, the youngest of their four children, has become a stand-up comedian.
Great guy!
I think he's been the best on that show so far.(and I hate reality TV shows)
I surfed thru it last night....thought I had stumbled across a Howard Dean campaign commercial.
Hope our great grandson is able to overcome and realize his dreams when he grows up.
"You mess with me and I'll pull out my knife and we'll both get hurt."
I was dyin'.
I admire a good, healthy sense of humor. In fact, I believe the more warped the sense of humor, the healthier and happier the individual. ;-)
"This is the part of the show where I tell you that you're all going to hell for laughing at me."
This guy is great!

Josh Blue is cool.
Good looking too.
Hope he does well in his career as a comedian.
Thanks. That made my morning.
Goes along with Ted saying-'Been swimming?'.
People with Cerebral Palsy still get the jokes. They just don't laugh at them right away.
A member of my short list of personal hero's is a guy in Michigan with Cerebral palsy. His name is Kevin and he is probably the most well known bicyclist in the state.
Since he cannot use one side of his body, he steers with one hand and pedals with one leg. He was riding a tricycle but recently a group did some fundraisers and came up with a few thousand dollars for a new customized quad cycle for him. This guy rides several thousand miles a year, holds down a full time job and has raised several hundred thousand dollars for various charities.
I'll see him in three weeks at an annual charity ride we do.
Kevin has overcome, so has Josh Blue, I trust your great grandson will as well.
