It is even more curious that China's last of 12 purchased Russian (Project 636) Kilo class submarine was scheduled for delivery this month.

My money is on changing the old in the title.Initially the Russians used a heavy-lift ship for delivery, I guess to save money they are towing them from the Admiralteyskie Verfi shipbuilding plant based in St. Petersburg to the Chinese base at Zhoushan, Zhejiang.

That is one UGLY ship. They should sink them all right away!

It is curious as you say, but I wonder how many of them will be following the RimPac ships around?
