When I ran the command post for EOD support the USSS during the 21st birthday of the United Nations, one of the New York newspaper posted the following article. I don't remember which paper it was and might have well been the New York Times. But right on the front page was how to make a very sophisticated bomb designed to kill first responders. This was in 1971 when the SDS, Black Panthers, Weather Underground, VVAW, etc were throwing and planting bombs. By the way, this is when we coined the phrase of IED (Improvised Explosive Device) instead of home made bomb or mad bombers.
So much for media responsibility.

I don't think there is a case against them for publishing BUT, how about conspiracy in aiding the leaker for leaking in the first place. That act is illegal AND would not have occurred had the NYT not accepted the info. The conspiracy is the felony and could nail their asses.

It's as if treason doesn't exist any more. What is treason? We see it all to frequently and it's always called something else or explained away and the sh%t goes on and on and on......

It's no different than an out of control kid. They do it because they can. There are no consequences. They push and push that line out farther and farther and it hardly raises a peep. And if it does, so what.

I'm sick of the whole sordid mess. How about a bit of justice here? Demand that these things are not ignored. Do something, even if it's wrong. Just do SOMETHING.

Bush is hoping that his and Cheney's tongue lashing of the NY Times will appease those in his base who want the Justice Department to charge them with sedition or some other related charge. Mark my words, it will not happen. Bush is afraid to take on the NY Slimes with the Justice Dept., because if he loses his case he'll be labeled "anti-1st Amendment", and he fears that. He's a politician first, in ALL of his decisions.

Revoke their press credentials and fire any government employee to speaks to them. Treat them like the Al Jazeera that they are. You wouldn't allow Pravda to have access to the White House during the Cold War so why let these enemies in while we fight the terrorists.
