I would love to see Georgia Governor Sonny Purdue run.

It will almost certainly be one of the people on this list who gets the nomination.

People here waste time predicting which US Senator will win the nomination year after year.

The last actively serving US Senator to win the presidency was JFK. I don't know who was the last before him.

1. Plenty of Senators have been nominated (or come very close), so it makes sense to think they'll continue to be nominated. Kerry, (McCain), (Bradley), Dole ....

2. Senators can win the presidency. It's stiffs who have trouble. There just happens to be a lot of overlap between the two (ex. Kerry, Dole, Gore....). JFK was a Senator, but not a stiff.
