Tuesday, Utahns all over the state will be heading to their new electronic voting machines.
Tuesday is primary day in Utah and the hottest contest is in Utah's third congressional district.
There, two republicans - incumbent Chris Cannon and challenger John Jacob - have been battling it out over the issue of immigration.
This race is also attracting national attention because it's viewed as a barometer of how the immigration issue sits with voters; One candidate is accusing the other of being too soft on the issue.
Monday's debate aired on KNRS 570 AM, ABC 4's sister radio station.
Recent polls show Cannon with a slight edge, but with enough undecided voters to keep Jacob within striking distance. At this point, pollsters believe the race is too close to call.

It will be me. Either way I win. I can't wait for Jacobs if he is elected to do a Jimmy Swaggart " the devil made me do it" response when he gets caught with his hand in the cookie jar. Or I can laugh at the borderbots trying to turn a near miss into a victory. It will be funny either way.

bay buchanan backs Cook because she says Jacobs is weak on the borders, Jacobs calls Tancredo an opportunist and identifies with the Pence Plan, which buchanan and Tancredo call amnesty, Cook looses so now they back Jacobs, despite his being weak on borders and favoring the Pence plan. Must be difficult to keep it all straight.Just smile and nod. They'll lose, as usual.

Yep and now he is in hot water in the House for his immediate embrace of earmarks. So we have another hog at the trough. What are you complaining about? You supported Bilbray over the eeeeevil Minuteman candidate, right?
To: CWOJackson
One takes one chances when they are offered, and opportunity knocks. It is clear that Jacob and immigration is a work in progess. That might be why the edges are rough. Will any of that matter? I doubt it.

I don't live in UT but Cannon needs to be put out to pasture. And if he wins he won't get beyond 2008 anyway.

What time will you be at the polls tomorrow? Lol. Cute. I don't often encounter the Red Herring anymore, the fallacy of the irrelevent question. Did that win the cafeteria debates for you in high school?

Big difference -- Tancredo/Buchanan didn't back Jacob they ran ads against Cannon. The pro-AMNESTY wing of FR just thinks that the ads were in favor of Jacob.

Turnout is predicted to be huge. If that happens, I think Jacob will win.

I do not benefit from illegal aliens at all. Not personally or professionally.
I guess you missed that part of my post.
To: Arizona Carolyn
The CW is the opposite (low turnout helps Jacob). I have no personal opinion myself, either way.

ROTFLOL You do realize that Cannon's goose is cooked one way or the other, right?
A victory over Jacob is a phyrric victory. He continues with the pro-illegal nonsense and someone stronger will run against him in 2008. The guy is toast. He'll be pressured by House Republicans and UT conservatives to vote for strict border enforcement.
Even if he does beat Jacob in the primary he still has to face the Constitution Party candidate Jim Noorlander.

LOL! So why are they "endorsing" Jacobs despite his being in favor of the Pence Plan...which they call amnesty?

Even if he does beat Jacob in the primary he still has to face the Constitution Party candidate Jim Noorlander. So will the CP candidate step aside for Jacobs?

Wrong, I supported Bilbray and the evil Tancredo/Buchanan did too.
To: Extremely Extreme Extremist
But you told me they didn't.
