(CBS4 News) WEST PALM BEACH Sources have confirmed to CBS4 News that conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh has been detained at Palm Beach International Airport for the possible possession of illegal prescription drugs Monday evening.
Limbaugh was returning on a flight from the Dominican Republic when officials found the drugs, among them Viagra.
Limbaugh entered a plea deal back in April in a previous case where his charge of fraud to conceal information to obtain prescriptions was dropped under the condition he continue undergoing treatment for addiction.
Limbaugh had admitted to being addicted to pain killers on his radio program and had entered a rehabilitation program prior to that arrest.
True, you only suggested he relapsed and nothing more.

The first TV article implied other drugs. Mine from another station just says Viagra. Maybe there were other drugs, could be Tylenol.
I don't think the first article had ill intent necessarily. We'll see what comes out. If I were Mr. Limbaugh I would not be crossing borders with any prescription bottles.

However "minor", the recently "resolved" cases of Dr. Shopping could be brought back up if Rush does not "stay out of trouble" for 2 years. This is the same prosecutor Rush has publically mocked. Why oh why didn't Rush pack up and leave West Palm Beach is beyond me. He needs to be in a place where he is not always under investigation. It also sounds like he spoke to the cops without his lawyers. Roy Black will personally kill him.

That seems reasonable to me. This is a continuation of a witch hunt.
Does anyone here know what kinds of searches take place on private planes when they go through customs? Did they scan his bag, and knowing it was Rush Limbaugh, take out the pills and examine them? I recently had a bag scanned that was full of injectible meds and no one said a thing.
Customs and security are for the country's safety. They are not supposed to go after "not guilty doctor-shoppers." Rush's Viagra was not hurting anyone (other than one lucky limping woman).
Viagra is a fairly weak drug commonly given for pain.
YES...but the same people that have been defending the NYTimes...and bashing Bush for going after the financial transactions of terrorists..
will NOT consider this a violation of Rush's privacy.
