SALT LAKE CITY -- Rep. Chris Cannon, the five-term Republican facing a stiff primary challenge here over his stance on immigration, has lost a comfortable lead and heads into tomorrow's primary in a statistical tie, according to the latest poll by the Salt Lake City Tribune. The survey of 400 voters found that 44 percent of "likely" Republican primary voters prefer the incumbent Mr. Cannon, compared with 41 percent who prefer developer and political newcomer John Jacob, who promises to crack down on illegal immigration. The three-point gap is within the poll's five-percentage-point margin of error.

We voted against the double-speak and corruption of Cannon. See you weren't there and have no idea what you're talking about.

If you were there you would have known that Cannon is

1: in the hip pocket of Abrahamoff and his ilk.
2: He lies about his record on immigration.
3: He talks in circles and wants to spend more on my money on Big Government.
4: He has lost/spent over $50,000,000 dollars of his own money in ten years....and he's well on the way do doing the same thing with the federal budget.

Do we want someone in Washington that can't even handle his own money?

Go slander 100% conservative Tancredo in some other State. Take your hype, hysterics, and heretical blather back to PA where you can make a difference.

You know jack about Utah. You think a statement about adversity will actually hurt a candidate. You are irrelevant Dane and you make yourself look insane with your innuendo about me and the DNC. I'll post my name and address on FR for all to see, they can check out my donations, my voting affiliations and my status as a GOP caucaus delegate and voting judge.

You on the other hand, won't even post what State you're from. Back to whatever hole you crawled out of dane, you hatefilled, spriteful interloper.

Uh colorcountry, your hero tancredo slanders 100% ACU conservative Chris Cannon in a stateless boundry, the internet.

Those in glass houses should not throw stones.

Cannon deserves to be ridiculed by Tancredo or anyone else. This isn't slander - - Cannon is a joke.

If it were slander, I would assume we'd see a corresponding lawsuit by Cannon, and yet ye hear the same old tortured logic with the guy, and nothing in defense of his record.

The message has already been sent. We're damn sick of open borders... The power structure has already been challenged whether Jacob wins or not, and the RNC had better be listening....

"Because the Utah nominating convention was inundated by one issue zealots, who it seems would rather throw out a 100% ACU conservative(Cannon), for a candidate(Jacob) who thinks his petty adversity(i.e not getting enough campaign contributions) was caused by and singled out by satan."

Not only do you insult people on this site who disagree with you, but you insult half of the conservatives at the UTAH GOP nominating covention who don't think like you.
Are they democratic imposters because they want to secure the borders first too?

"You don't impress anyone with your insults or your zeal for illegal immigrants. I'm off to shower now, have a great day. I'm certain you'll be around tomorrow night to follow the results"

Only if Cannon wins. Otherwise he'll sign in with another name.

If this race is about immigration and voting for Jacob is a blow to illegal immigration, then why is Jacob's rhetoric (note, this is just what he's saying, he hasn't actually had to cast any votes yet) no better than Cannon's?

Wouldn't you hate to be snookered by a stealth candidate who's a bit (what's the word I'm looking for...? Ah!) insane?

I agree with you.

But I don't think the Dems will EVER oppose Bush's illegal alien amensty because it is an essential Democrat policy anyway. They applaude it. They will never condemn it and the Repubs willnever have to worry about losing anti-illegal alien votes to Dems.

As you DO point out, they WILL have to worry about the Republican Base not voting or voting for a thrid conservative or libertarian candidate, which is just as damaging to Republican candidates.

The lies keep going on, Buhs and Cannon are not "open borders".

Well, they are something aren't they Dane, because it isn't just the ACU rating that has you all in a dither. It is apparent that you support Cannon's and Bush's immigration stance, what shall we call it if not "Open Borders"?

I noticed that he changes the subject.

As I stated before on another thread, Dane is the King of logical fallacies and circular arguments. Very incoherent and erratic poster.

And this coming from the person who stated on this thread that the poll stated in the posted Wash Times article came from the Washington Times, instead of the Salt Lake Tribune.

What does howard dean do in the DNC basement, pass around free dope?

Jacob is more fiscally conservative than Cannon, if anything. You can look at their personal finances and the way they live their lives to see their values in action. The man that Jacob is and the life he has lead, show us his conservative values.

Why do you think congressmen are due some kind of lifetime tenure? Utahans are ready for some new blood....Cannon has ghosts in his closet. There's a chance to elect someone more in line with our values and Jacob is the man. Why do so many people on FR fear him?

Is it because by electing him we are also sending a message loud and clear, "We've had enough."

What better place to start than in the most conservative district, in the most conservative State in the Union, where no Democratic contender has a chance to win. Hear our voice.

But for some reason spiffy wou have a animistic woody against conservative Republican such as Chris cannon.

"animistic woody"

That's a keeper.

It is always entertaining to see you come unhinged. Lately, the entertainment has been non stop.

Dane can always be counted on for good entertainment.

Welcome back from your suspension. For the seventeenth time, what is your opinion of the Mike Pence immigration compromise?

Oh, man, I love people like you!

I have this bridge in Brooklyn and, let me tell you, it's a bargain!

Utahans are ready for some new blood

Insane blood?

There's a chance to elect someone more in line with our values and Jacob is the man.

He's certainly anti-Satan, you can't deny that.

Why do so many people on FR fear him?

His being crazy might have something to do with it. It could also be Tancredo™'s attempt to take over the party for himself or his association with the oh-so-charming Buchanan siblings.

Is it because by electing him we are also sending a message loud and clear, "We've had enough."

"We don't want the baby and we don't want the bathwater!"

Actually, I think it is the construction of Herr Tancredo™ that Pence's plan is a "compromise".

What is Tancredo's plan?

It absolutely is a comprimise, and a fair one at that, in my opinion. At this point, I'd prefer no action to the Senate bill passing, but I would be happy with seeing the Pence plan pass. I've been asking Dane for his opinion on this for seventeen days straight and have yet to get a reply.

That, of course, assumes a zero sum economy, and that is not something I don't believe. Besides, in my family we create jobs for others instead of cultivating resentments and feelings of entitlement.
