TONY Blair is to team up with Arnold Schwarzenegger in a bid to terminate global warming.
The PM will hold talks about green schemes with the former Hollywood star when he jets to California next month.
Schwarzenegger, whose hit films included Terminator and Total Recall, turned his back on the big screen to become governor of California in 2003.
Since then he has earned a reputation for championing projects to help save the planet.
Mr Blair is also determined to stress the Government's green credentials amid fears that Tory leader David Cameron is wooing voters with his "Vote Blue, Go Green" crusade.
A senior Downing Street source said last night: "The PM wants to show the Government is committed to tackling global warming."
Schwarzenegger is spearheading plans for cars to run on hydrogen.
In CA and UK "green is in" and a lot of the constituents are "concerned" about the environment and global warming.
Angelides is running on that, promising extreme measures, check out his website.
I think Blair's visit can only help Arnold.
Gov S is what one gets when a RINO is elected in a Blue state.
Dittos for NYC--Bloomberg.
Just another reason for Repubs to be ashamed.
Why should Republicans be ashamed?
Would you prefer DEM governors?
Are all the facts in, FO, re: Global Warming?
Do you agree with al Gore and the Gubinor on Global Warming and the stances they are taking when they both make the same statement?
Just curious. Thanks.
Why? Is (R)inold a Republican? This voting for a Democrap because he has an (R) next to his name is the reason why the party is going to crap! Lets keep electing the Snowes, Collins, Chaffee's, Spectors and McCains. Screw the Republican principles, all that matters is the power! Starting to sound like the DNC!
Imagine a world leader looking to Arnold Schwarzenegger for an informed opinion. Sorry Tony, I think you're off base here, and Schwarzenegger isn't worthy of this type of support.
If that's true, then Blair sees more harm than good coming from a possible loss for Schwarzenegger. Perhaps we should be taking notes.
They call it pragmatism. I think it's defined as the act of incrementally surrendering your party for the sake of getting some of what you want, some of the time.
Both Blair and Schwartzenegger have to navigate the same stinky thinking, every single day.
Blair's a welcome help here.

Unfortunately, a RINO is about as good as it will get in CA. Here in Ohio on the other hand, I think the Republican Party should be ashamed of Voinovich, DeWine, and Taft. We deserve better, and I believe if more conservative types ran, they would win here.

Arnold takes the issue back from Angelides and gives nothing.

When you look at this document today, it's classic Arnold Schwarzenegger, Angelides said in a conference call with reporters. It's a promise to talk about and perhaps someday do something about an issue. There's nothing solid here, nothing specific that reduces greenhouse gases.
"classic Arnold Schwarzenegger" ... I like that, like when he played One-Bill-Gill for a sucker.
How can Blair's visit help Arnold? To me it is a perfect demonstration of Arnold's complete disconnection with the Constitution and the citizens of California. He is supposed to make policy based on input from his constituents. Instead, he is making cozy deals at luxury resorts(no commoners allowed!) at the behest of one of the vice presidents of the Socialist Internationale, Tony Blair, and the head of a transnational media corporation who is pushing the 'harmonization' of our culture with Islam, Rupert Murdoch. When I heard his proclamation after visiting with Blair it made my blood run cold, because I see our rights draining away at a faster pace than ever. It is US he is to represent, NOT Tony Blair!
