Great post, Peach!
Sadly, most Americans have no idea about foreign affairs, particularly since there is no draft, they feel they have no need to be informed.
The attacks on our troops in Bosnia were unanswered, thanks to clinton policy.
Thanks for the info. I didn't know that.
LIEberman says that if he is defeated in the dem primary he will run as an Independent.
Thanks, Seattle. Your posts are always among the best of the web, imo.
We're going to get a storm here so I may have to check in later tonight.
Thanks for the insight on King.
Only in NYC, I guess....
I think the lack of education in geography is especially hurtful to our country. Geography gives you bearings in the world, so that you know when you hear "Indonesia" you can visualize jungles rather than the Arctic tundra. Without geographical knowledge, all of the names of countries are simply words.
Mendenz keeps saying .. There you go again, Tom
Does anyone know if ANY elected official from New York is trying to downplay the importance of arresting the Miami Seven?
Maddie NotsoBright and Kissinger (how old IS he?) coming up next on Blitzer's show.
"King is becoming more of a media prostitute than Schumer.
King is on our radio programs just about every day.
He is fully owned and operated by the union bosses here in NY."
He definitely has a lot of contributions from various unions AND the trial lawyers' assn.

Miss Marple, we watched that western last night and although that isn't typically my cup of tea, it was a terrific movie and well acted by all the actors.
Thanks. I was just one of many. The Sunday thread always produces things for me to learn and gives me insight I would not otherwise have.
It can't get much more shameful than that. Diana Irey beating Murtha would be the same kind of rush for conservatives that Coleman beating Daschle was in 2004. I sure hope she beats Murtha. How is that race looking so far? I hadn't heard specifics.
Absolute ignorance on parade. He is assuming that N. Korea thinks like normal folks.
He supported the removal of Saddam Hussein because it helped Israel. I am fine with his position for that reason, and it will be interesting to see if his jewish constituents in Connecticut abandom him for that position on the war.
This is the RNC's response to Russ Feingold's appearance on Meet the Press today.

And I will note that Carl Levin said today that the troop deployment will be political and will not be based on what the military wants. Levin further said troop deployment SHOULD be based on what the military wants.
This is contrary to his other statements. The administration has always said that we would draw down as the Iraqi military geared up and that we would listen to the generals on the ground.
He triangulates as well as Hillary. Problem is that she really does not need him. He can't help her enough areas she is weak--the south, elsewhere.
Feingold counts on sounding good, he sounds authoritatively. Some people will actually believe some of what he says. But the truth is he really stands for what most dems stand for; expedience. Whatever works at the time is fine with him, as well as most dems.
