Electing Jacob to Congress is not the solution.

No one said that it is the overall solution. But, it is ONE MORE VOTE on the Immigration Reform Caucus towards securing our borders and enforcing our immigration laws. It is one more vote AGAINST amnesty, rewards, benefits, and a privileged path to citizenship.

Jacobs and Cannon are going to cast conservative votes. Jacobs is going to go one better and cast votes FOR border security and AGAINST amnesty. Unlike Cannon who enjoys support from all of the various marxist pro-amnesty groups like La Raza.

""Tancredo is pretty much endorsing the views that Bush is involved in some secret plot.""

They are against Bush on his support for the Senate Bill. Nothing hidden about that on either side. As for a plot in one report Sensenbrenner stated, and Tancredo and another seemed to confirm, that Bush asked them to insert the felony provision into the House bill. If exactly true, this would mean Bush or his aides were involved in a long term strategy to get the Senate bill through quickly by shaming the House as conservative, racist, too harsh. Those protests were a show of force funded by the lobbies and the Mexican Government to coincide with the Senate vote. If true, an intriguing bit of political strategizing. The press didn't follow up because it wouldn't help their agenda. Or they did ask and Sensenbrenner clammed up for whatever reason. Notably Bush never criticized the felony provision, an omission that might be telling. Or not.

"OF course he is getting involved. He is being attacked."

Actually he thought he could finesse this through. Without saying anything. But he showed his cards when he publicly criticized Harry Reid when the first quickie vote failed. Why? They'd vote again? Bush wanted the Senate Bill dearly. When things looked bad he made his speech and showed his cards appalling Sensenbrenner...or so the story reads. No doubt Bush attacked first with his comments that opponents were "vigilantes" "uncivil" etc.

""That being said. Bush is the Executive. We can't afford much party discord in the House right now. Its not like we have a super majority there""

Maybe. They're counting on the issue working for them. We'll see.

Hey Dane - what do you think of Liz Dole and the NRSC who supports Chafee over Laffey?

Wait until September rolls around, you can be sure we'll hear how we just have to elect Chafee to keep the democrats from getting that seat and he has a 100% ACU rating blah blah.

I am looking at some polls out there that don't seem to be showing that the Presidents view is outside the Republican mainstream.

Yah, Republicans love amnesty and want to break the bank for illegals and become second class citizens here. That's what Republicans want.

""Jacob is an embarrassment. He's an opportunist whom none of his erstwhile constituents knows. His neighbors hate him. He is arguably a gigolo.""

Well, so was John Kerry! LOL.

What's the dirt?

A 'rat', hardly, I just wish to see those who will support the constitutional mandate regarding enforcing our borders elected. Also a 'rat' in what regards?

I see. Well, there's a lot of people working for that, and the secrecy of the panel is suspicious, and Bush has a history of such things, like the energy policy matters in 2001.

We'll see what they publish.

Even better, when Sensenbrenner comes out swinging against AMNESTY. After praising Sensenbrenner for supporting Cannon, Dane will then say that he's been bought off by Bay Buchanan/Tancredo PAC.

No Republicans do not support that. Thank God the President doesnt either.

As to Republican voters
The Tarrance Group, a GOP polling firm, conducted the national survey of 800 registered, likely voters June 12-15 for the Manhattan Institute for Policy Research, a conservative think tank.

Three-quarters of the voters favored a policy that reflects Senate legislation.

It would create a system that allows illegal immigrants to come forward, pay a fine and receive a temporary worker permit; and provide these temporary workers with a multi-year path to citizenship if they are put behind others who have applied before them, don't commit crimes, learn English and pay taxes. The proposal also calls for increasing border security and imposing tougher penalties on employers who hire illegal workers.

Forty-nine percent said they did not view this policy as amnesty, while 39 percent said it is amnesty

You bet, and he'll accuse Sensenbrenner of hating Willard Scott for good measure.

Actually Sensensbrenner is endorsing Cannon. Shows class on his part and Sensenbrenner probably has genuine respect for Chris Cannon, unlike tom tancredo, whom it seems he doesn't have any good words to say about.

I too, would love to deport every illegal alien that ever busted across our borders, lock down the border, and nuke Iran, Syria, and North Korea to rid the world of terrorists. Day two.

Unfortunately, and incredibly, they are NOT the biggest threats to America. The cut-and-run, tax-and-spend liberal communists called the Democrats are.

So, day ONE, we need to defeat them, so we can win the day two battles. We need to rally behind a proven conservative stalwart, not some one-issue whackjob blaming Satan who claims to be more conservative.

I live in California, but my donation was better spent on Chris Cannon. Jacob is a future liability, not asset.

You got that right! Cannon is pro amnesty and has stated so many times. Now he tries to back away from the issue, but we remember all too well.

Re-Electing Cannon a moderate on immigration is not the solution for secure borders.
