Among 800 likely voters polled last week, 49 percent supported state Auditor Claire McCaskill, a Democrat, in her quest to replace U.S. Sen. Jim Talent, R-Mo. That compared to 43 percent who favored retaining Talent, who has been in office since 2003. The remaining 8 percent were undecided.
Missouri voters say they're willing to spend more tax dollars to restore Medicaid coverage to 90,000 residents, and strongly support increasing the state's minimum wage for workers.
They also continue to overwhelmingly embrace a ballot proposal that would protect many forms of embryonic stem cell research, and one to increase the state's tobacco taxes.
MO sucks!! They agree to the baby-killing stem cell research!
No we don't. Were pretty solidly red. The Post-Dispatch always writes stuff like this. When I first moved here I thought Missourians supported every tax increase on the planet. Wrong. And you would not believe the money they have poured into this stem cell initiative. Fancy tv ads all the time. They imply that the research, which they never say is going to be embronic stem cells paid for with tax dollars, will cure absolutely everything and that this initiative simply is to insure that, if these miracle cures become available, folks in the state won't be prohibited from benefitting from them. It is the most dishonest thing I have ever seen
You generalize your hatred to an entire state?...that is moronic and immature.....FR at times is just as bad as DU at times with all the vitriol and absurd and hateful statements........get a life
