There are commenters on the blog for the project that lends credence to what you say -- some polite people wrote comments saying, in effect, 'Thanks for letting me know about the petition, I will sign it, and you can put my name and address on your site.'

However, keep in mind that gay radicals are notoriously efficient organizers. Whether this backfires on them remains to be seen.
