I'll bet he feels about his grandbabies the way I do about mine.

O.K. I'll take a look at him as long as no one looks at my governor..
Mitch Daniels is the worst republican gov. in the country. Right after Arnold...:)

Don't forget the new "Stand Your Ground Law," and finally putting the flag issue to rest.

And on July 1, 2006 what may be the toughest child sex offender law in the country goes into effect here in Georgia. That would be a real bonus during a campaign.

One of the reasons that liberals have a visceral hatred of GW Bush is that he is a southern conservative. He speaks with a twang and reminds them of religion, morality and patriotism. They HATE that, absolutely hate they. They can take a conservative, barely, if he's from the midwest or north (Reagan), and they don't mind a southerner if he's of the self-loathing kind that only pretend to be religious and southern (Carter, Clinton), but they cannot abide a southern conservative, especially one with a full on drawl.
Now me, I love to drive the libs crazy, so I'm all for Sonny Perdue or Jeff Sessions or someone like that being President. I don't think either of them is well positioned for it right now, and they'd need to be doing different things right now if they were interested in the job, getting a higher profile and working the party faithful.

I live here and I like Gov Perdue; normally I would not have thought about him as a presidential candidate but who knows? The Pub will be running against a pair of flip-flops in any case. As bad as Republicans may be, the Democrats are stale moldy toast IMHO. I am reminded daily of the immortal words of Will Rogers:
"I belong to no organized political party -- I am a Democrat." --Will Rogers

I remember when he took office, people in the state goverment where all up in arms because of the firm stand he took on waste. We survived and I like the fact that he never waivered in spite of the pressure from the pro illegal groups regarding the new law. I never actually thought of him as president but now that you mention it, sounds like something to consider.

I love the guy, but I doubt he's electable at the head of a presidential ticket. I wish he would move to Florida and run against Nelson since they don't have any winnable opposition to him down there.

Also has a credibility problem. Namely, he built his 2002 campaign around one issue, an issue that won him normally Democratic rural areas of the state. That was, a vote on the 1956 flag. This was one of the first things he turned his back on. Politicians who don't support said flag would still use it against him in a primary because it showed he was willing to say something to get elected, while once in office, doing the opposite.
