Lost among the FR discussion regarding potential Republican presidential candidates for 2008, there is one candidate that conservatives should seriously take a good hard look at, one in which the RNC should immediately get behind as soon as he wins his re-election bid this year - Georgia Governor Sonny Perdue.

"At the time [When he took office in January 2003] Georgia was in its worst economic crisis since the Great Depression and facing a $640 million dollar state budget deficit. Sonny immediately went to work reforming the budget process, setting priorities and cutting the waste. His efforts reduced the size of state government by over a billion dollars."
"Sonny also worked hard to get the economy back on track by creating a business friendly climate for Georgia's hometown employers while aggressively recruiting new investment from other states and internationally. In three years, he helped generate over 183,000 new jobs and over $6 billion in new investment in Georgia's economy."

I like this governor...Boortz likes him too.
bald, chubby and doesn't have the right name. otherwise sounds great.
That works to his advantage. It means that voters will see that he's just like you and me. The reason why VP Cheney is popular. People are sick and tired of the used-car salesmen, blow-dried look of politicians today.
Are you sure? Failed how many classes?
All we would hear is the media saying he's named after a chicken.
bttt
I like the name.
I'll bet he feels about his grandbabies the way I do about mine.
Or a pretty damn good university that turned out lots of great engineers. ;~))
Don't forget the new "Stand Your Ground Law," and finally putting the flag issue to rest.
VP Cheney is popular? What poll are you smoking?
That works to his advantage. It means that voters will see that he's just like you and me.
Speak for yourself.
The reason why VP Cheney is popular.
Where do you get the idea that Cheney enjoys popularity? link
Its Newt. Deal with it.
I do too but I can't really see it as a name of a president. Just me.
Huh?
