I never had any front-end trouble with my truck until they installed them in my neighborhood. They're ugly rubber things now.

Keep kids alive...get them out of the street when cars come by.

Sounds like an excellent opportunity for photo radar enforcement.

Call the ACLU! I'm sure the right to play in the middle of the street is guaranteed in the Constitutions somewhere.

EVERYTHING you know is wrong.

Although people commonly call them speed bumps, traffic planners use the term "humps"

Speed bumps are battling gas powered leaf blowers as the dumbest invention ever. Every time someone goes over the bump, the house rattles. If you want people to slow down, put a cop on the street writing tickets to speeders.

I used to hate speed bumps. But then the crotch-rocket convention started in a park on my streets. Week after week, crotch-rocket races up and down and the police will come by about three hours after they are gone. So now, I am in favor of neck-high speed bumps.

Lemme guess. Parents have to send their kids to play in the middle of the street because their over-sized McMansions have taken up the entire lot leaving no room for a swing set in the backyard.

I would not want speed bumps on my street (although live on a circle now). My kids know to look both ways before they cross the street. Teach kids and they will learn. We never had speed bumps as kids and we did fine.

In the housing area where I live, in the Olympia, Washington area, we have a speed bump at both entrances to the housing area we live in and there are lots and lots of speed bumps in other surrounding areas as well..we have just gotten used to them...

Now in the last few years they have put in round-abouts on many of the streets down here in Olympia...I hate those things, and as often as I have to use them, I will never get quite used to them...we have already had two serious accidents with log trucks overturning while in the round-abouts, as somehow making that turn, unbalances their trucks...and tho the person in the round-about circle has the right of way, many drivers just ignore that, and slam right into the circle anyway...I have seen a lot of near misses, accidents just waiting to happen...I try to avoid going down streets that have round-abouts, but sometimes that is impossible...

Least they can't campaign for those "don't back up severe tire damage will result" devices you find all over California.

Is a "Speed Hump" anything like a "Nooner"?

Hate those things.....Have actually had the Trailer lift the back end of the pickup off of the ground when crossing them.
