Susan Sarandon, outspoken actress and liberal political activist, thinks the United States should help build schools in Mexico -- not walls along the border.
Visiting a preschool in a slum bordering a vast, municipal garbage dump in Tijuana, Mexico, Sarandon said education was the key to improving lives in Mexico. She criticized a U.S. congressional proposal to extend walls along the 2,000-mile U.S.-Mexico border.
The school was founded by New York educator David Lynch, who came to Tijuana in 1980 as a volunteer teacher. He later built the school for the children of Mexicans who eke out a living gathering recyclable material from the dump.
Sarandon, who has starred in movies such as "Thelma & Louise" and "The Client," has been supporting the project for years.
"I'm very proud, especially with the world careening out of control," she said. "People feel they have no control over their lives. I think this school is helping people to get control over their lives."

I wish that dolphin had finished the job.
What makes her think we aren't already doing that?
Maybe Mexico should build schools.
To say how I really feel would get me banned, so I won't.
Let the mexicans build their own schools of they want them.
The truth of the matter is that mexico is so corrupt and third world that no amount of money and nothing we do could ever fix it.
We need to build the wall, quickly.
Why don't we go ahead and use those bricks for a wall and then Susan Surrender and Company can turn Mexico into one big open air classroom once it is done.
That moonbat named her son, Jack Henry, after a twice convicted murderer, Jack Henry Abbott, who later committed suicide. She is a sick person.

Why doesn't Sarandon address her complaints about Mexico's educational system to Mexico? How stupid is she?
Zuben (shouting once again): "Wow, what a coincidence. You also have two big boobs! And one of them is that Commie husband of yours."
I just love watching the rich and famous sitting on the very pinnacle of life, preening themselves and telling the rest of the world what is wrong with it and what the rest of the world needs to do to fix itself. It usually involves the rest of the world mortgaging their lives to the tax man, tithing more and more money to uncontrollable projects, donating a few thousand dollars in return for millions of dollars of publicity and explaining to us commoners what wonderfully thoughtful and intelligent people they are.

So why can't oil rich Mexico, with more billionaires that the US, build their own schools and educate their own people out of poverty?
Another elitist who thinks because she is a "star" gives her a pulpit to which we little people should clamor for.
We already give Mexico millions and millions of dollars a year. Maybe she should petition the Mexican govenment for an accounting of how those funds are spent. I can also be sure of the fact that what she would want taught in these schools would be very much anti-American!
I'm sorry, are we living in the United States of America, or the Estados Unidos de Norte Americano?
Mexico can take care of its own--they just CHOOSE not to!
How about we work to overthrow the corrupt Mexican government and let the new one build its own schools?
