THE real WMD Scandal. (Enough weapons to take out Manhattan, Chicago, or Dallas.)
World Net Daily ^ | 06.23.2006 | Kevin McCullough

Posted on 06/23/2006 5:01:49 AM PDT by jodiluvshoes

By now much of the nation has finally heard the truth: George Bush never lied about weapons of mass destruction. By now most of America is realizing that the president, who has been pummeled mercilessly on the fact that such weapons were missing, is deserving of public apologies from every Ted, Dick and Harry the Senate can cough up.

If you have been living under a rock, here's the short measure of it. On Wednesday, Sen. Rick Santorum and Rep. Peter Hoekstra revealed to the press for the first time the declassified portion of documents demonstrating that U.S. military had uncovered a minimum of 500 weaponized munitions that could in fact be used to deliver mustard and sarin gas.

Santorum confirmed on my radio broadcast (hear the audio) that these weapons were the kind used to kill 5,000 Kurds by Saddam. Saddam only needed three of these missiles to accomplish that feat – we've uncovered 500. That's enough nerve agents to kill more than 8.3 million people, or the Island of Manhattan or the city of Chicago.

The lying leftists who will get all of us killed if we don't remain vigilant were very slow to respond.

The New York Times, which has run hundreds of stories in the last two years on the global war on terror and attempted to reiterate on its news and editorial pages that the president lied to the American people – remained completely silent on the issue the day following the discovery. The Boston Globe committed all of two paragraphs. The Washington Post five. Yet combined these newspapers used thousands of paragraphs with huge, large font headlines to say again and again that President Bush had lied.

When I asked Sen. Santorum the real meaning of it all as it related to the American position prior to the liberation of Iraq, he responded quite simply: "It meant that Secretary of State Powell told the truth when he went before the United Nations Security Council."

As I have reported previously, we've had firsthand knowledge that some of the weapons were removed from Iraq via outfitted 747 and 727 jets to Damascus. Gen. Georges Sada testified to as much on my show (hear the audio). But at that, there was always a suspicion that not all of the weapons had been able to be moved. I believe the president firmly believed that they would in fact be uncovered by the respective United Nations inspection teams. But let's face it – the last U.N. inspections team that actually found what it was looking for was immediately kicked out.

The announcement by Santorum also pointed out something else of keen importance. The declassified version of the report indicates that there are many more weapons likely to be found even yet in Iraq.

There may be perfectly legitimate reasons for waiting on the announcements of such and even delaying the announcement weeks to months after the discovery. U.S. soldiers could be made vulnerable if the location of such stockpiles were made known to the jihadists in Iraq, who are composed of mostly foreign fighters. Telegraphing in advance the knowledge of such weapons' existence might entice two sets of weapons seekers to emerge.

It is also worth noting that none of the leftists in the United States Congress have apologized for lying to the American people. They have not offered apologies to President Bush, and to add even more pain to their misery, the Senate rejected John Kerry's "pull out of Iraq now" bill by a vote of 86 to 13.

For a season or two, the left has had what they thought was the smoking gun for the president and his party – to say he lied to the American people about weapons of mass destruction. What they would never address is how so many foreign intelligence agencies also concluded the same thing as the U.S. based on the best available evidence at the time. Heck, even John Kerry looked at the evidence and concluded that Saddam had weapons and was a threat. Turns out all those intel agencies, our own CIA information, the administration, and most importantly, our fighting men and women are now all justified. The U.S. was right all along.

That smoking gun has now been turned on themselves. For having told the American people their own form of a lie – that WMDs did not exist – and to do so so many times, they deserve every ounce of scrutiny and request for public apology they receive.

It is also a disgrace that the media have done no more than yawn at the story or give meager back-page mention of it when they were willing to tout long and loud that the president lied – with much less evidence that he did. Their callousness to the truth, their unwillingness to correct their positions or to report the facts and their willingness to slander a commander in chief in the midst of wartime are deserving of subscribers canceling their subscriptions in mass numbers. For if Americans cannot depend upon the information they read, then they should get their information from more reliable sources.

As Americans, we should stand proud today that even though the left ran the spin for a while, the truth is coming out.

And, as Scripture says, the TRUTH will set you free.

Looks like Kev was also just on Neil Cavuto's show telling New York politicians to zip it on the old "we didn't get enough funding thing.

I can't wait for his book either.

For those of you that don't know, they still recover mustard gas munitions in France and Belgum from WWI. Even though it is almost 100 years old now, it will still blister and/or kill you.

let's keep on sticking this knife into the ribs of all these hate-America, villify-our-troops, Bush-LIED fellow "citizens". yeah baby, stick it in, nice and slow, twist it round a bit, let that blade get a good bite on them ribs.

It's a given that the media will try and Airbrush this away - like their god Stalin, if they ain't talkin' 'bout it, then it ain't really happenin'... so we've got to keep the pressure up.

Oh, and while we're at it, EOD, though I'm not an ordnance man, it would seem to me that there is a way to analyze that stuff so that you can narrow it down to make & model, etc.

Now, if the above assumption were correct, then I believe we're in for another bit of good news - and that's when the samples from these shells match the samples of sarin gas that were deployed in that aborted terrorist attack on Jordan that came out of Syria back in '03-2004. Remember, Syria was not known to have a sarin chemical weapons program, whereas Sadaam obviously did. Said proof would be another nail in the coffin of these leftist hijos de puta.

But... but... but... I saw on MSNBC that senior intelligence officials, speaking on background for fear being spied on by the Bush War Machine, said that the stuff our people found was harmless.

And we know that senior intelligence officials speaking on background never lie, right?

Thanks, everyone, for indulging my lame attempts at humor.

I am willing to bet the democrats that are screaming the loudest that we didn't find WMDs in Iraq, know that we did and know where the rest of them are.

The only reason they can get away with lying about President Bush lying about it is that the truth could be to horrible for The President to reveal and they know that he can't.

a political catch 22

Here how you can destroy the Liberals and their media stupid argument that the 500 Chemical shells found in Iraq are not effective anymore because they were built before 1991.

2003 UN Report: Iraq Sulfur Mustard Gas Chemical Weapons Have High Quality After 12 years of Storage http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1653841/posts

The above is coming from the Left beloved UN and Hans Blix!

...delaying the announcement weeks to months after the discovery.

My son e-mailed me 18 months ago, when he was in Iraq, that they had found a stockpile of sarin gas. Never heard it reported till now.

Santorum's announcement was so general, I am amazed that anyone has offered any specific appraisals. However, I remember that the investigative teams were shipping what they found out to labs in other countries for verification. Anyone who goes out on a limb will have it sawed off.

I dare anyone who claims these shells are harmless to haul them around in their cars for a few days.

You know, I've just finished a couple of days corresponding with one of the editors at a local newspaper (SeattleTimes). I asked why they didn't even acknowledge the announcement. Essentially, they were in the process of writing a piece on it and it's taken them days to do so...but more interestingly, just as your cartoon suggests, he didn't view this as significant whatsoever. He says they are pre 1991 and had been identified and were under UN seal at the time of the start of the war, so they're not any proof of anything as they were already known. That's where the liberal media is going with this.

The amazing thing to me is how quickly and illogically our team allowed the libs to jump from "WMD's have not been found" to "there never were WMD's and Bush lied."

It's like if your son had been arrested in the past for drug abuse and then several neighbors, friends and family start telling you they have seen him using drugs again. You notice his eyes are bloodshot and his speech is slurred. You go into his room and do a search but find nothing. ..do you conclude there are no drugs or do you conclude that he hid them well?

It depends upon rather one is a liberal or not. Liberals have an amazing facility with closing their eyes to the obvious.

In certain ways it's even better if these are the WMD's from the first Gulf War. These were the very weapons Sodamn Insane supposedly destroyed. The fact that he wouldn't even get rid of the old weapons is just proof Saddam had no intentions to follow those weapons sanctions.
