Yowza. Was just a tyke in New York at the time, but older friends of mine who lived in Little Havana at the time sat at the base of the bridge going over the Miami River, with shotguns in their laps should the rioters had decided to cross the river.
Well, the 70's in Miami, while single, in my late 20's was ...Outstanding. :-)
Back to the riots...
Each night as things slowed (3AM) starting about the 3 day, the streets were ruled by gun tottin rednecks cruising up and down 441 & 27th st in pickup trucks. LEOs said and did nothing.
My Uncles warehouse was on 62Av in Liberty City. They rammed cars into it and couldn't get in. :-)
