I'm really frustrated by this administration's responses to the WMD issue. They've known all along there were WMD there--in fact, as some of these were found, news articles were filed and posted on the internet--then the stories just died on the vine. We know some of the rivers were poisoned by mustard gas, we know they found an underground nuclear facility (and locals are still being poisoned by it when they pilfer from the site), we know sarin gas was found, we know they found massive stocks of atropine, injectors, and chem suits.
Sometimes, I'm tempted to say, Well, Bush Admin, if you're not going to stand up for YOURSELVES, why should WE? But I know why--the other choice is far, far worse.
So are a lot of us. The question is why, WHY, WHY???
True the problem the adminsitration has (like Santorum) is that yes, WMDs were found in old shells, but not the UN inventory of all the thousands of tons of Ricin, Sarin and other chemical stockpiles have not been accounted for (since they are now in Syria.) Therefore, in the lib mindset no real WMD's were found.
The real problem seems to be that Bush is his own worse enemy. He did not standup to support the Yellow Cake claim from the British. He did not stand up to Joe Wilsons lies! He did not stand up to defend the fact that Saddam's chemical inventory was substanciated by over 10 different Governments. He refused to investigate into the weapons being transported to Syria. And why is Santorum announcing this instead of Bush? Like I said, Bush is his own worse enemy (sorry bots, but its true)
