I guess if the weapons discovered were not made after 1991 then they don't count regardless of whether they are dangerous or not.
But why would Saddam keep old weapons that were not effective if it was illegal for him to have them?

Nobody cares. < \soros>
The far left's new slogan will go from "Bush lied, people died" to "Bush told the truth, now I feel like a douche"

But, uh, umm, the MSM said there were no WMD in Iraq and even the DUmmies said so. I question the timing of this. (sarcasm off)

Kathryn,
I thought it might interest you that your post regarding Senator Santorums press conference regarding confirmation of the discover of WMDs in Iraq prompted me to make a $50 donation to his re-election campaign. I may live in Arizona, but I know hes good for our country. I just want him to make such a big deal about this that we no longer have to suffer fools who doubt the deadly potential that was Iraq under Saddam.

I never have seen a post that caught 18,559+ views. It's a big bang news for sure.
And why didn't we release more about WMDs? As the retired US General on Fox News said last night -- because it was manufactured by and with our allies help. Russia. (and China and France etc.)
I'm not surprised about this and have been wondering when they would be found.
I recall that there had been 2 or 3 news stories about early IEDs made from 155mm artillery shells that contained Sarin a couple of years ago. And, based upon reports after Operation Desert Storm, that the Iraqi's did not put special markings on their chemical shells, I have often wondered if chemical filled shells were sitting around in various ammo dumps completely unnoticed, because the markings on them were no different than HE filled shells.
A hearty congratulations to the Army's National Ground Intelligence Center.
Something to consider is that it's not in the Administration's intrest (from the standpoint of security) to admit that any exist until they're ALL found.
Think of what would have happen if they had pushed the story about WMDs being found while they were still finding them. Had the terrorists gone after them too (and used them against Americans) we'd have seen a 911-scale firestorm.
Much better to take your time, allow the libs to push the "Bush Lied" story, round everything up, then set the story straight.
I hope that's what we're finally seeing today.
My biggest concern is that they have noted these weapons are pre-1991, and that the poisons within are so degraded as to be pretty much useless (that's a good thing, right?).
The libs will therefore declare that these are old WMD and of no value becuase their application is worthless. How long does it take for these poisons to degrade when stored in an acceptable environment vs being stored in a less hospitable environment? And how is it known these are pre-1991? I know I shouldn't trust the media, but they're trumpeting these "facts".
Not a peep anywhere in the MSM about this "incredibly significant" find. The silence is deafening.
"We know it was there, in place, it just wasn't operative when inspectors got there after the war, but we know what the inspectors found from talking with the scientists in Iraq that it could have been cranked up immediately, and that's what Saddam had planned to do if the sanctions against Iraq had halted and they were certainly headed in that direction," said Fred Barnes, editor of The Weekly Standard and a FOX News contributor.
