FWIW, I just looked at the opening of the NBC, CBS and ABC evening news shows. Plenty about the Marines accused of murder, but not one word about this.

FWIW, I'm not find any other sources for this on the 'net. Is anybody else finding stuff? No Drudge, it's not even on Fox News' site.

There may in fact be shells somewhere, but I think the caption on this pic is misleading. This looks like a set of draegar (never could spell it) tubes used to detect sarin gas. Other Navy guys know what I mean. It isn't sarin gas by itself. The logical extension is why have the tools to detect it if you don't have it? I have to find the rest of the USA Today pictures to see what they have. If this is all there is, it won't hold up under any serious examination.

My understanding was that we did NOT have anything to do with training Iraqis in the use of chemical weapons, and that out assistnace to Iraq during the Iran-Iraq war consisted of supplying them with satellite imagery of Iranian troops movements, and other intelligence.

If anyone has proof that we were involved in the Iraqi WMD program on a US government-sanctioned level, I'd like to see it.

BTW, France, Russia, and China supplied Iraq with 85% of its war material during Saddam's reign. The US supplied less than 1% (some N. European nation did the study, which you can find on the 'net).

Check the center package, with the Russian writing and foxed paper label, is apparently the subject sarin gas, while the test tubes to each side of the center package you are talking about were provided by the U.S. to test for the gas.

You can see that the two packages on the right are the same type of package, one showing the front and one showing the back of the package.

You can also see that the same glass vials are in both kinds of package.

These glass vials, as previously described, are used for air sampling, to detect Sarin. We use similar vials in our field, to test for HazMat gases in working environments (benzene, toluene, etc.).
