I have camped out in front of George Bush's ranch, marched in rallies, lobbied Congress, gone to jail, and much more to stop the devastating war in Iraq and bring our troops home. Now it's time to do more.
Along with other activists and the peace groups Gold Star Families for Peace and CODEPINK, I will be starting an open-ended hunger strike, called Troops Home Fast, on July 4 th. We will start the fast in Washington DC, in front of the White House, and then move to Camp Casey (outside Bush's ranch in Crawford, Texas) in mid-August. We hope the fast will galvanize public attention, invigorate the peace movement, build pressure on elected officials, and get our troops back home!
As a sign of solidarity, we are asking you to join us by fasting for at least one day. It could be on July 4, our launch date, or any other time during the summer. You can fast from wherever you are, or better yet, join us in Washington DC or Crawford, Texas. We've already received commitments from wonderful allies such as Willie Nelson, Danny Glover, Dick Gregory and Dolores Huerta, as well as military veterans, religious leaders, students, and women's groups.
Thank for considering our request to fast for one day as a symbol of your support for the Iraqi people and our soldiers, and your commitment to bring our troops back homeFAST! You can either contact me directly or my assistant Tiffany Burns at tiffany@codepinkalert.org
Warm regards,
Cindy Sheehan
Why wait 'till July 4th Cindy? Start now...get a jump on things.
August is such a wonderful time of year in Texas.
Good Luck Cindy

Is this lady independently wealthy or is she an employee of one of these extremist groups?
I used to live in Maryland. The place has changed a lot in 30 years. Sounds like you jumped right out of the frying pan into the fire, imo...
She is a vulture
I think open-ended hunger strike here means switch from milkshakes to regular food when media interest dies down.
Gandhi was no Gandhi... he was a lawyer.
When Willie's high he'll have to get the munchies.
Cindy:
"LOOK AT ME! LOOK AT ME! I'M STILL HERE!!!"
pathetic.
OMG, I think I just broke a rib laughing.
ROFLOL!
Oh, WOW, she now has an 'assistant', Tiffany Burns.
Meet Tiffany.
Bullshit, she stayed in a hotel at night.
She'll probably only fast during the day, too. It'll be just like Ramadan.
Hey, I have an idea. I'll fast in opposition to Cindy. But I'll only fast as long as it takes for the first picture of her secretly stuffing her face to be published.
Bet I won't lose a pound.
That fat pig could do without a few meals.
Gael Murphy is a 50-year-old peace activist from Washington, DC who has traveled to Iraq several times since the war started. In addition to holding the banner, she was wearing a pink slip that read, Cheneys in bed with Halliburton, and we got screwed. Tiffany Burns is a 28-year-old peace activist from Los Angeles.
"I got the munchies" Willie could never fast. :)
Stupid is as stupid does.
