Just got "Godless" last night.
Truth is the opposite of what her detractors are saying, some here on FR: Coulter sells books not because she is outrageous (which she is) but because she's a skillfull debater and a good writer.
Take those paragraphs on the 9/11 widows out of the book and what is left is, as Steyn recognized, a tightly argued and FUNNY book.
For Coulter's other secret is that she is the ONLY pundit we have who sees just how absurd the left is, and she never stops just flat out MAKING FUN OF THEM.
And that's attractive. Apparently.

I completely agree. While I flinched at first at the way Ann put that remark, she was right on point. It also would not have generated any airplay without the way it was put.
It is notable that nowhere has anyone actually contested the substance of either this one contextless sentence or the main point of the book writ large. In tennis, that would be an ace.
About 2/3 through Godless, awesome book, solidly reasoned as mentioned. Truth be told, tho, I think she is much harder on Joe Wilson, "Sad Max" Cleland and (especially) Murtha than the widows. Not that any of them don't deserve it.
Great article! The MSM STILL doesn't get Ann's point. The more articles like this EXPLAINING and defending Ann's comments,,,the BETTER!
