If the Bible is the product of the Catholic church, then why does it not include some of the principal tenets of Catholicism ? For instance, the pope, and how he is an Alter Christos (another Christ) ?

Also, the priesthood, and where does it say that priests have the authority to command Jesus to leave his seat at the Right Hand of The Father to be re-sacrificed at every mass ?

Catholics re-present and participate in the one sacrifice of Christ.

Notice how, no matter what the religious subject, we always get accused of Catholic bashing. I hate to even enter posting on evolution and religion. Bill O'Rielly said plain as day on his show that he believed people were saved that were "good" no matter what their belief. I made the statement that he was wrong and was told that the pope had said the same thing. I believe there are Catholics that may go to heaven as well as hell, and Baptist that may go to heaven as well as hell. But if the pope is teaching you don't need Christ, he is teaching blasphemy.

If you read the "Catechism of the Catholic Church," you will find that all beliefs of the Church are backed up by Scripture. You can order a copy from Amazon and look things up for yourself.

The Catholic Church, and the office of the Pope, was founded upon Jesus's Words "Thou are Peter, and Upon this ROCK I will build my Church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it". Sounds scriptural to me. Peter was the first to be he Head of Jesus's Church on earch, and the men who have followed have all been annointed and consecrated as his successor.

Priests do not COMMAND anything of Jesus. They are simply standing in His stead, and calling down His Holy Spirit to make the bread and wine be His Body and Blood, just as HE commanded of his Apostles, at the Last Supper,
