Agreed, you do; I really didn't intend to sound so harsh, but my point still stands in that fortunately you haven't lost someone.
I had two nephews and a brother over there. Fortunately they all came home safely.
When someone has lost a close family member they are in a unique position to determine if the cost is worth the benefit. The rest of us are all guessing.
There are those who believe it is, there are those who don't.

I'm not being cold here but...That's what a soldiers life is almost all about. We have NO draft therefore this young man was NOT forced into our military, he chose it. This uncle needs to keep his mouth shut. It is tragic to lose a nephew, I know I have. I felt like hell for months but I didn't play the blame game...oh if this or oh if that. Support your nephews decision, that's the honorable way not whining on tv.

You can bet our military did everything possible to find these two young men. We never pay ransom especially to a bunch of terrorist. You can also bet that the 101st will be relentless in finding their killers.

The rest of his family, when interviewed, probably were supportive of Bush, so, like the story of Cinderella, the MSM continued past the parents, thru the siblings, aunts, newphews and cousins until they finally found one of the Uncles, however despised by the rest of the family, who had the views the MSM desperately sought.

And I fully heartily agree with you. They should be justly proud. There is no greater sacrifice for one to give than to lay down his/her life in service of our country. Each and everyone, soldier, sailor, Marine, coast guard, air force, police, fireman, etc. give their guts for very little or no glory. They are not in it for the glory. There is NO GLORY in war. There is no glory at all. Men and some women, on the battle field rise to a level of glory, but they are not seeking glory when they rise. Normally they rise up and seek the enemy to defend their comrades who are dying around them. They seek to shut off the killing of those comrades. That is why they rise. They sometimes charge against all odds, giving their all. I had a high school friend, a Marine, who died in Vietnam, who did just that. His fellow Marine was down, and he rose to charge ahead to try to save his friend. He died doing so. He got no glory. He got no metals. He only died. But, he died a man. A hero to his fellow Marines. He died my friend.

It makes me want to puke to see these enemies of this Republic, these socialist, communists, liberals, homosexuals, democrats, like Kerry, Boxer, Kennedy, Murray, Klintons, Shoemers, Reids, Algore, those pukes who dishonor all those in uniform. These bastards KNOW the military allows them to run their foul mouths and remain free to do so. Yet, these sorry SOB's continue to hide behind heroes such as these, and I hate every stinking one of them. If they all disappeared tomorrow, I would not shed a tear for their being gone.
