Can you imagine the New York Times even giving 2 seconds worth of attention to a Freeper convention?

No, but I'm sure that the NY Times monitors FR constantly.

If they included the words Right Wing extremists, bigoted, homophobes, in their story, then maybe......

...Qaeda's Iraq leadership has been killed in Iraq...

I see this as a great step forward in bi-partianship in our Iraqi policy. The right want terrorists our of business, the left does not want them being held as prisoners of war. Killing them on the spot should make everyone happy!

While you were posting this - I was GOOGLING for info.

I saw it on FOX & Friends this morning - the report direct from Iraq along with photos - the leading al Qaeda imam - showing his very dead face.

Now I can't even find mention on FOX news site - or anywhere else???

Is the media waiting for HIS next of kin to be notified - (she says sarcastically)

This news comes at the same time as the news of what these barbarians did too two of our brave men. Why is it being spiked? Is it because it will give the American people some sort of "yes!"

Mashhadani was one of the top five al-Qaeda in Iraq leaders and close to its mastermind Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, who was also killed by a US air strike on June 7.

"He was a right-hand man to Zarqawi," Gen. Caldwell said.

US forces had spotted Mashhadani and two other militants in a car in the Yusufiya area south of Baghdad.

His vehicle was destroyed from the air as he tried to get away.

Two US soldiers went missing at dusk Friday in the same area.

A group affiliated with al-Qaeda said it had abducted the soldiers but Gen. Caldwell dismissed the claim, saying the military had no evidence to suggest that.

Mashhadani had previously been captured by US troops and then released in 2004.

More proof that we should not be releasing anyone. Just line them up and shoot them.

A fellow Vietnam vet pointed out that the only thing the terrorists succeeded in doing when they kidnapped those two soldiers was getting the rest to be really enthusiastic in kicking in doors.

Great if correct. This suggests that the half-life for an Al Qaida leader is down from almost 2 years to about 72 hours.

One..by...one...bringing them down.

Al Qaeda knows we're kicking their tails. We just have to keep reminding them because they're too stupid to knock off their cowardly car-bombing, IEDs and other lowly tactics.

It'll be pounded into them eventually. In the meantime, we'll just keep rounding them up or wasting them.

Army Destroys Korans

(al-AP)Today U.S. armed forces used two 500 pound bombs to destroy several copies of the Koran. The remains of the books were found in the rubble of a safehouse in Yusifiya owned by a person said to be one of a "right hand man" of the late resistance leader, Zarqawi.

"I'm absolutely appalled," said Senator Richard Durbin, "by this action. We can never win the hearts and minds of the Iraqi people when we treat Korans in this fashion. This is another example of the incompetence of this administration."

"Where is the plan?", demand Senator John Kerry. "I have a plan that will lead to successful conclusion of this conflict without the loss of a single Koran. This president went to war without a plan to protect these Korans."

"This is why we have to redeploy our forces, " explained Rep. John Murtha. "As long as our brave men and women are over there, there's always the chance that Koran's will be desecrated in this fashion. We need to move our armed forces to a place like the weather station in Antartica, where they can do their job without risking damaging Korans in the process."

Reporters have tried to interview the owner of the safehouse for his reaction, but sources indicate that he may have been in the building at the time the Korans were destroyed.
