DUBAI (Reuters) - The new leader of al Qaeda in Iraq "slit the throats" of two U.S. soldiers whose bodies were found in Baghdad, according to a statement posted on the Internet on Tuesday.
"God Almighty has graced the leader Abu Hamza al-Muhajir ... with the implementation of the sentence," said a statement from the al Qaeda-led Mujahideen Shura Council. It said the two had been killed by having their throats slit.
The statement could not be authenticated. It was posted on one Web forum used by Islamists, but not on the main site used by Iraqi insurgent groups.
The same group had said in a statement on Monday, a few hours before the bodies were found, that it had abducted them and would provide more details in the coming days.

Not him- yet..but one of his top guys.
I have reason to doubt the bum was even there. But if he wants to take credit for this outrage, fine with me.
I want your ass Towel-Head and no I'm not Turkish.
Those were our boys. They are America's warriors and now we have faces for them. Godspeed, kids.
Now who's gonna pay for that atrocity?
---Well now, let's ask Michael Berg what to do. Maybe put him to work in a hospital instead.---
I kid you not. Berg was saying they should work with children, so that they would learn the value of life!
Did you read what you just wrote?
"if america does not stoop to the level terrorist parasites and step on them like cockroaches then one can say the so called "war on terrorism" was lost from the beginning."
If we DO stoop to their level- there will be no war left to fight...we will become the thing we hate.
Iraqi and Coalition forces stopped Zarqawi out in the open, (kinda hard to keep 1000 lbs of exploding ordnance quiet)and handled his corpse in accordance with religious and customary requirements. The autopsy was to ensure that he indeed died from the bombs as opposed to misdeeds.
These kidnappers take, mutilate and kill our soldiers with their identities hidden-and claim it is justice? (Let's not forget the beheadings, the murder, burning and display of the contractors' bodies, and so forth. Cowards are what they are. Spineless punk cowards without substance for their existence.
While I am still skeptical that the new guy actually had anything to do with the slaughter, his followers creating that impression just painted a big ol' bulls eye on him... and themselves.
Personally, these terrorists should not be classified as people anymore. They checked out of the human race the day they decided that murder was how they would voice their dissent and impose their will.
Like many of you have already expressed-hunt these animals down.
I hope the Iraqi people realize that THEY can end this by NOT tolerating this-otherwise, they ensure the return of tyranny under a different name. These animals won't stop at coalition forces. They will murder more and more Iraqis because they know Iraqis can be easily intimidated. It WILL happen to them (again) if they don't draw that line in unison.
I don't know. Just last week I treated my family to chicken in a nice blood orange demi-glace.
Mike Can i ask you a honest Question ?
How do you feel about when Arial Sharon was prime minister of Israel with his policy of targeted assasinations in dealing with the Hamas terrorist group and basically whacking them ?
Is that any different then the approach the United States is taking in Iraq ?
could it be The state of Israel knows how to handle terrorists better than the United States in which they have been dealing with it for years and have the experience and they do have the stomach for blood letting than most people in the United states ?
Please give me a honest answer without getting upset.
Thank you.
No question posed to me on the INTERNET of all places is going to upset me....but since you asked....
It was his decision. We are KILLING terrorists too. I don't MIND killing them. I DO mind asking our honorable soldiers to sink to a despicable level.
And I REALLY mind internet armchair generals thinking with their emotions and not with their heads.
AS I said, thankfully the pros are in charge in Iraq, this will be dealt with and the people who did it will be killed in their time.
I'm not sure I believe this either. But either way, they guy is now a dead man. Warm up the virgins!
Livius, I agree. I think that if it was the so-called new "annointed" leader of Al Qaeda in Iraq, he would have used this situation to the fullest - strung it out for awhile -- come out on video - showing his strength and machissmo and had a real "coming out" party.
I am so saddened for the families of these men -- and all our guys who suffer for our freedom.
I read your bio. Fue a collegio en Miami. Tengo mucho amigos de Cuba. I am not Latin, but love languages and am always working on perfecting my Spanish.
I live in California - a very liberal state -- and in the San Francisco Bay Area (outer bay) so I know how you feel. We all have to stick together!
The notion that the IDF understands how to handle terrorists better then us any longer is nonsense - The reality is Israel has not ended their threats from terrorists through their supposed expertise. Not in the least!
They lose people to these animals almost weekly still! Both soldiers and civilians -
Of course they take out individuals and or groups of these SOB's when the opportunity arises....as do we! - And the fact is we are every bit as good at it as they are (actually...better even!).

When I catch up to the end of thread, I'll find out if I am the only one.
Hi, Mike. Always love reading your posts, when you were in Iraq and now that you are back.
You probably know many of these off the wall comments are being made by people in a moment of extreme anger and others are "venting" longer frustrations.
Still, I'm glad you are putting into print the Army way of dealing with these enemies. Makes me proud to read them.
I remember after 9/11 I happily joined threads calling for air fuel bombing our enemies and all other sorts of mayhem, but that was calculated. I wanted our enemies to know how angry we were and how determined.
Early on 9/11 my tears turned to terrible resolve, but I am very glad our commander in chief and our armed services have remained professional in meeting and defeating this enemy.
I think for Iraq we are finally at the beginning of the end. But for the rest, for Iran, North Korea, Russia, China... God knows where we are.
Still it could all turn on a dime. Like the fall of the Soviet Union. Like the dropping of the atomic bomb. Something can come out of some CIA op, some weapons lab, some diplomatic coup, some long planned military exercise -- something seemingly out of nowhere to cut short the broader war outside Iraq.
Until then, we keep the faith and keep fighting and keep supporting the troops.
Cheers!
Patty
