It isn't folding and stuffing that is the issue. It is take off and landing operations. The rotor diameter of the H-47 would severely limit flight deck operations. I believe the distance between spots on the LHA deck are around 115 feet.
I would expect a Fadec T55-714, similar to the current model -714 (which is similar to the commercial ALF502 Turbofan, found in BAE-146 Regional jets - think PSA or United Express or NWA, but without the fan), and computer controlled, similar to the ALF-507, found in the later versions of the 146.
old tech, but pretty rugged.
