Did anyone else see Manchaca's uncle on the Today show this morning?

He said that the US Gov't didn't act fast enough, should have released 2500 mujahadin prisoners and paid out the 100 billion that we took from Saddam's Bathe party to pay ransom. Lauer asked if negotiating with terrorists wouldn't encourage more of the same and the uncle replied that they are doing it anyhow and they need the money. WTF?? Essentially blaming the "US Gov't" instead of the terrorists.

This guy is nuts, but in the normal MSM fever to get a family member or neighbor of a family member on the air, they put this &^%$#(*@ on the air to speak for the family of this soldier. Disgusting.

I didn't see the program, but when I read the uncle's comments, I wondered how the MSM could have gone and dug up probably the one Cindy Sheehan/Michael Berg type family member. Maybe I'm jumping the gun and he really didn't mean the remarks that way. I hope.

This is such a sad event, and the media reaction is going to make it even worse.

A nice way to celebrate the 1st day after the departure of Dan Rather...

I wonder if the jerks in the media understand why Dan Rather and Tom Brokaw are no longer Anchors (and in Dan Rather's case, the fact he has been literally forced out the door...)

But I guess being brain dead is a requirement at many of the Lamestream Media shops.

It was Fox News that broke this story, and I don't think the LAMESTREAM MEDIA doesn't understand why Fox is number 1 these days with Drudge #2 and some Internet sites such as Freerepublic providing better coverage these LAME MEDIA folks.

This family is in grief, and they should be given a few weeks where no one records their words.

This uncle, unfortunately, will become a mouthpiece for the media and the liberals. As Ann Coulter says, they'll use him as a "human shield" for their policies.

I hope this soldier's immediate family bitchslaps this uncle and tells him to keep his trap shut.

The Uncle's blaming their son's IMMEDIATE FRIENDS. Any "plan" would have to be a plan at platoon or company level.

Besides, why would we need a plan to protect the life of a POW.
