I stopped about half way thru. The boats sound expensive but I guess it depends on what they do and how big they are. All this sounds emergency/ rescue related. You think it's too much?

Also depends on who is paying for it. These all sound like local items, to be paid for by local taxpayers, without federal involvement. The only way we'll know if LaCrosse's $150m boat is too expensive is to let LaCrosse pay for it.

I laughed that pencils were included. I worked at a place once where, when all was said and done, we were budgeted 13 cents for office supplies:')

Most of the local taxpayers are really hacked at the outlandish purchases by the local law enforcement agencies in the name of national security. With the availability of Fed money, most agencies didn't see any need to seek approval of the local boards before blowing the big bucks on this junk.
