Lots of good photos. Check 'em out. 2 samples ---->>>
The particularity of the cities is the lack of cars. Everyone is walking, sometimes they take packed public transportatins made of tramways, trolleys and even 2 storie buses. The bicycles are rare and expensive.
The pedestrian zebra is original.
BTTT!
Looks like the ghost town of Prypiat, Ukraine, that was nuked during the Chernobyl disaster.
Might have missed it, but dennisw, are these photos of the city/buildings - from the past 24 hours? I ask this because I'm checking out the cloud cover in reference to the NK's firing off the missile.
Could this really be a Chinese puppet. It is foolish to think China would ever allow this mad-man to rattle his sabre unless they wanted him to. He must truly be their proxy for testing and measuring American technology and resolve.
It is time for GWB to have a tet~a~tet with Dr. HOO advising them quit playing with fire.
The only thing missing are the orcs. Must be too little food around for them.
The whole scene looks like a city without a soul, both literally and figuratively. No people, no cars, no neon, no food, no fun.
Turner: "Well, I didn't get, I didn't get to meet him, but he didn't look, in the pictures that I've seen of him on CNN, he didn't look too much different than most other people."
Blitzer: "But look at the way, look at the way he's, look at the way he's treating his own people."
Turner: "Well, hey, listen. I saw a lot of people over there. They were thin and they were riding bicycles instead of driving in cars, but ahâ""
Blitzer: "Lot of those people are starving."
Turner: "I didn't see, I didn't see any, I didn't see any brutality in the capital or out in the, on the DMZ...Let's give 'em a break. Give 'em a break And besides, even if they do -- even if they do threaten us again, the threat is non-existent to the United States. They can't threaten us. I mean, it's like a fleet attacking an elephant."
Obviously they're not big practitioners of feng shui.
File that under "Ted's Stupid Comments"...number 8,345,022,256,765.
"Behord... The eye of Saulon!"
I'll pass.
At least the Russians had paint.
Koreans must drink it.
Did the same thing on the E/W German border. Ghost towns.
That's not to say I don't believe the poverty and despair exists in NK.
Those pictures are pure evil. It could only be worse if there were mullahs present.
Detail of the DMSP OLS composite showing North & South Korea
Landfill of dreams.
I would love to play Airsoft wargames here...
North Korea has the kind of peaceful environment that gives you a headache!
Don't see any people around anywhere, perhaps the UN could be convinced to transplant themselves there.
A couple of years ago I read a story here on FR about some North Korean women students who were demonstrating when a poster of the Dear Leader blew down in the wind. They became hysterical, trying to pick it up and rehang it, weeping and wailing the whole time. Very creepy, and indicative of what has happened over there.
