Ummmmm Hon..........you might want to read somewhere other than a Lexington town paper, or Lexington cares website. When the school board reports to all three, what kind of report can one expect. You apparently don't know this school system. This is not the first time they have had parents in an uproar, and not the first time they have intimidated those parents. Only difference is, Mr. Parker is not going to be intimidated into silence, or moving.
I wouldn't want to be in his position, or his sons, but I applaud his values, and his standing up for them. He feels enough is enough, and he isn't going to just move away or take his kid out, and the heck with the rest of the innocent children in the school, as many have felt compelled to do, not that I blame them). Someone has to stand up for what's right, and not back down. He is brave enough to do it. And as such, has my and many others, full support.
Um, hun - why don't you answer a few questions for me.
1) Why didn't Parker file a police report for what? 3 weeks? 4 weeks? How many weeks was it again?
Is this what you would do if your son was attacked by a mob of kids and adults stood around and watched?
2) Why didn't Parker take his son to a hospital for an examination to see if he had internal injuries? If the kid had really been beaten by a mob, he could have died from internal injuries or a ruptured spleen.
3) Why didn't Parker make sure his attorney started the bureaucratic paperwork in motion to ensure that Children's Services investigated?
4) Why didn't Parker make sure his attorney started the bureaucratic paperwork in motion to ensure that the DA investigated?
5) Why did Parker leave his son in a school where clearly the adults were so irresponsible they would actually stand around and watch while a mob of kids hit, kicked and punched his child?
When he first lied about the arrest, I sensed he had far different values than me. He had many options and took the one that gave him the publicity and subjected his kid to ridicule and embarrassment for a year and a half. That's not my idea of "standing up for them". In this latest, there are only two possibilities. Either Parker's story is true, in which he failed his son miserably in not immediately taking action, or the story is a lie and he is using his son for his own purposes. Neither picture is one of a responsible concerned parent.
