I can't imagine the Border Patrol telling anyone to look away.

I'm not saying this guy is lying - but I just find it hard to believe.

""Our focus is why we have illegal immigration: unsecured borders."

I have to disagree. While it's important to secure our borders in this age of terrorism, the reason why we have such uncheked illegal immigration is because our government wants them here. They refuse to enforce the laws in existence that would stop illegal immigration in its tracks, and they refuse to repeal the laws that invite illegal immigrants here by the millions.

To stop illegal immigration, all we need to do is STOP all of the welfare benefits, federal, state and local, to illegals. We need to STOP cheap housing for them. We need to STOP hiring them, or STOP allowing our corporations and businesses to hire them by fining them or removing their licenses when they get caught.

When we do these things there will no longer be any reason for illegals to come here, and the illegals already here will no longer have any reasons to stay.
No jobs, no government handouts = no illegal aliens.

Awhile back a memo surfaced that had come from the higher ups to the border patrol. It essentially said....take cover, run and hide. So yes, I believe it.

anyone have a link?

I don't doubt it a bit. Not so much because the guys out in the desert feel that way but because the brass wants it that way.

Doesn't sound as though you are here very much. You need and awakening.
I recall that post, Sheana. And the one that told about the Feds tipping the Mexicans where the Minutemen were going to be at any specific time on the border.

Yeah and Simcox on Fox last weekend accused the Border Patrol of cutting fences to allow illegals to cross. He is a certified nutcase.

And the Feds tipped the Mexicans where the Minutemen were to be stationed? I suppose you don't believe that either.
Or that the Bilderbergers have anything to do with anything going on in the world, right? I wonder just who the nutcase is.

Be careful, you're likely to get a bunch of RINO hand-wringing in response, as I have received in the past.

I agree, though; remove the incentives that draw illegals across the border in the first place. No reason to be here == less illegal immigration.

From:
http://www.local2544.org/
(Border Patrol Union)
Local 2544 has learned that there will be no new patrol vehicles purchased for the Border Patrol in fiscal year 2006. Unless something changes you will be driving the same junk vehicles again next year. All the money has been earmarked for Katrina spending. 09-15-05

Local Police Department Problems- During incidents in the last several weeks there have been two disturbing encounters with area police departments. An off-duty Border Patrol agent was hit by an illegal alien who ran a stop sign in Tucson. During the Tucson Police Department's investigation, the off-duty agent, who happened to be unarmed, asked the officer to hold the other driver because he suspected she was an illegal alien. The agent also informed the officer that a uniformed Border Patrol agent was enroute to the accident scene to interview the suspected illegal alien. The police officer refused to hold the illegal alien even though the uniformed agent was just minutes away. Had the off-duty agent been armed and in possession of his credentials he could have made the arrest himself. The officer apparently had no pressing reason not to detain the illegal alien, he just flat refused to do it. Now that's inter-agency cooperation for you folks.........In the other incident, a Sierra Vista Police officer stopped an off-duty Border Patrol agent for speeding. The agent was under the impression he was going to get a speeding citation (as would be expected under normal circumstances, even considering that such a violation is a "misdemeanor"). Then, the officer asked the agent where he worked. Afterwards, the officer sent a message to his superior, bragging "Guess what I've got? A BPA doing 50 in a 25." The officer's superior sent a gleeful message back stating "Cool!!! Bring him in." The agent was subsequently ARRESTED. Had the agent not been forced to identify himself as a Border Patrol agent he likely would have been cited and released. We do not condone speeding, however we question how many average citizens would have been arrested and hauled off because of this speeding violation. updated on 2-27-06
Politics of the Illegal Immigration "Crackdown" - There is an an interesting opinion piece on the politics behind the "crackdown" on illegal immigration. As usual, we are the pawns getting rocked and shot at while the politicians and others play their games. Oh, by the way, it's no longer a "guest worker program", it's now a "pathway to citizenship". Both equal AMNESTY for illegal alien lawbreakers, but doesn't "pathway to citizenship" have a nicer ring to it? Much better term to shove down the throats of Americans who think our laws should actually be enforced. We feel better already. Next time you dodge a bottle, a rock, or a bullet down on the line, just think of the violator as being a tad overzealous to get on the "pathway to citizenship". This should make you feel better. Read the opinion piece here. 04-28-06

Frankly I think all who want border control and enforcement agree on that point. Once we stop luring them, we can go with a cheaper border control options.

Border Patrol told to stand down in Arizona

By Jerry Seper
THE WASHINGTON TIMES

U.S. Border Patrol agents have been ordered not to arrest illegal aliens along the section of the Arizona border where protesters patrolled last month because an increase in apprehensions there would prove the effectiveness of Minuteman volunteers, The Washington Times has learned.
More than a dozen agents, all of whom asked not to be identified for fear of retribution, said orders relayed by Border Patrol supervisors at the Naco, Ariz., station made it clear that arrests were "not to go up" along the 23-mile section of border that the volunteers monitored to protest illegal immigration.

Agents have been convicted and imprisoned for helping the drug and human smugglers. But you find it inconceivable that they would cut a fence! Talk about denial!
