FREDERICKSBURG, Va. (AP) - A Spotsylvania County man is running as an independent against 1st District Congresswoman Jo Ann Davis.
Retired Marine Colonel Marvin Pixton says he doesn't like the current state of politics, and says there's too much bickering between the two parties. He says he's not running against the incumbent but rather he's running for a change in Washington.
Pixton says transportation will be his main issue. He says Americans are too dependent on cars.
Fredericksburg businessman Shawn O'Donnell is running against Davis as a Democrat.
Pixton announced his candidacy in Fredericksburg Monday morning.
He says he's qualified to be on the ballot.

(CA conservatives only serve to inflate the number of electoral votes won by the Dems.)

Pixton says transportation will be his main issue. He says Americans are too dependent on cars. He's not running in my district ... but if he was, I'd happily tell him to bugger off.

Anyone who thinks there is "too much bickering between the two parties" does not have a clue what the bickering is about and does not need to be in Washington.
We need to elect someone who knows what the argument between the two parties is about and who is willing to engage in the debate.

This guy is engaging in a fool's errand.
All this will do is split the votes and the Rat will win.
Now's not the time to play games. Why doesn't he run as a Republican and force Davis to take a stand? Davis is somewhat of a RINO, she wants the prescription drug plan enrollment extended.

Do also love my car but think Mister Pixton is not far off. He needs to focus on dencenrilization of the prob instead of compounding it.
Build a bigger mobile parking lot and it will just fill up. Square one again. The Virginia's and Cacalacki's can surely use the bennie of Government. Especially the follow-on business.
Decentralize people and function. Makes a smaller target and spreads the wealth. Also a lot of quality of life our there.

Gun control - car control - It all amounts to the same thing. They want us on bicycles, or on public transportation, and they want us helpless. I did you not.

'All this will do is split the votes and the Rat will win.'
Exactly what the scheme is. The question is whether Pixton is a dupe or a stooge. From his dumb remarks about relying to much on cars he sounds like a stooge on a deliberate sabotage mission.

Will we have the return of the "Lil General"??

All this will do is split the votes and the Rat will win. This is a pretty safe GOP District. The last serious challenge Jo Ann Davis had was in 2000.
And, as I keep reminding folks the Marriage Amendment is on the ballot in Virginia this November. That will be a boost to Jo Ann Davis. I'm not too worried about her.
I'm more concerned about the Moveon.org distortion campaign against Thelma Drake in the 2nd District.

I never served with a Marine Officer who thought they had a need for transportation.

Maybe if they offer to extend the HOV lane down to Fredericksburg he'll go away.
