The Defense link usually has them up within minutes of it hitting the media, or before. Check out the podcasts as they are updated frequently as well. How they got this story out with anything being on the site is beyond me.

It's not the first time nor will it be the last that troops are charged with crimes, even to the extent of murder, but this is the first time I've ever seen it reported so widely while literally putting the enemy as a "victim".

I figured it had to be a press relaease, since the 3 "original sources" for the story; CNN, Reuters and AP do not name who the spokesman was. They would usaually say "Lt. Gen such and such, in a briefing to reporters..."
All I see is "the military said..."

from the article posted at post #30
The soldiers charged in the case are in pretrial confinement, the release said, while it is determined if enough evidence exists to proceed with courts-martial.

I am getting confused...so much of this lately (how can that be a coincidence?) that I can't keep them straight. Is this a brand new one? My head is spinning.

CNN couldn't resist throwing Haditha in there even though there is no connection here and no charges have been brought about from Haditha.

Well, in CNNs defense, people could be confusing that with this. Its a way of saying they aren't the same.

I saw that. I'm just not certain of the possible sequences of; charges,
Art 32 investigation,
Art 32 hearing
and the determination of court martial jurisdiction.
To: notigar
Then in a way to avoid confusion put it in a subtitle,"Unrelated to Haditha".

This article really made my blood pressure soar and make me see red. I still feel the same, what I said wasn't just a burst of anger.
They train our troops to be warriors.
They train our troops to be killers when necessary.
They put lethal weapons into the hands of our heroes.
After all this when engaged in a war they expect them to act like attendants working in a toll booth.
They do the same to the Police Force then restrict them.
Either leave them alone and let them do the job they've been trained to do or train them as toll booth attendants.
It's just like training a dog as a guard dog then expecting the dog to wag it's tail and roll over for it's stomach to be rubbed when a criminal is caught in the middle of committing a dangerous felony.
Grrrrrrrrr!!!!!I have to find some walls to wash or a floor to scrub and relieve myself of this anger.
'Screaming Eagles' are among the first I would pick to protect me and watch my back if needed. Although an AF family we lived on Ft. Campbell with them for a year and a finer group of men and women you couldn't wish to meet.

Yes- this is a separate incident.
Haditha= Marines
Salahuddin= Army (101st Airborne)
This one involves 3 soldiers- the investigation seems to say they murdered 3 "detainees"...
It's really odd that the DoD hasn't released this yet on their site. I've looked everywhere there and see nothing ..

If anyone feels any sympathy for the enemy prisoners just think of what our two missing soldiers are probably going through.

Is this an actual NEW story, or an update of an old one (meaning a tedious rerun billed as a whole new incident)?

I am so sick of this. I could care less how our troops take out the enemy. This is war for pete's sake not a freaken tea party.
Get MSM and the rest of the left to shut up and let the military do what they do best. Our troops have had every breath they take analyzed and they are traitors for doing this to our troops.
They just can't wait to flash their negative headlines about our troops. Well flash this.......... do you want to be dead or alive. Do you want to put fear in the enemy or not. What happened to waking up the Eagle, what happened to how they will know the response of America in no uncertain terms.
